Thanks for sharing that was great! Great job of photodocumenting all that. Looks like the camper canvas was a blessing to have.

Not sure if I could handle the big lake, but I may be interested in the river given decent weather. It's probably one of those things that I'd only do in a group with a few experienced people to lead the way.

I didn't realize you took so many pictures! Thanks for leaving the part out where I missed the turn on the Calumet river, guiding us into Lake Calumet and 1 foot of water. (I havn't even shared my lovely damage props story). As I told you, I don't think I will ever miss that turn again. I didn't see any other Four Winns there, but I could have missed it. It really was a blast, rain or shine.

I think it would be great to do this again, later in the year, with some Four Winns boaters. I doubt I would be doing it with Grand Sport though. They have never really rubbed me the right way. What would you guys think about doing this in August sometime and maybe making a charity donation along with it? Just a thought.

August would probably work out best for me. Woggy I noticed a few bridges along your way. Will there be any problem with clearance on any of them with my radar arch? We have a couple of weddings of nieces and a nephew this summer that will cut into our boating. I sure wish they'd plan those around my boating season. 8) Pretty darn inconsiderate of them if you ask me.

You won't have any problems with a radar arch. There was one bridge that I did have to lower my antenna on, but I never had to lower the bimini top and I assume that you would be able to clear anything with an arch that I could clear with a bimini. Worse case scenario, all the bridges open so you might have to wait but you wouldn't have to worry about clearance. I will have to check with the wife, but why don't we all just plan on getting it on the schedule now for sometime in August. Sound like a plan?

I would certainly guess that my radar arch is no higher than you bimini. I agree that we should put it on the calendar if we want it to happen. How about the first or second weekend of August?

You should be fine with your Radar arch. Woggy, you must not have dealt with Jerry at GSC. He made the loop cruise, he was in a SL242 near the registration area at the ramp, and made the ride in a Baja. Jnizi speaks very highly of him, and he took the time on his day off to come in and show me a 258 he had for sale.

No biggie on the missed turn, that was quite an adventure though! We didn't think you would get out!

I will talk to the admiral and see what works for us on the timing, but we are pretty open. As to taking a small boat out, I think you would be fine if the weather works out. Your only on the big lake for 13 miles, and if you stay behind one of the bigger boats they really smooth out the ride. I went about 70 miles, and burned 24 gallons of gas.

I did deal with Jerry. He never gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling. If you have ever looked at used boats that they have for sale, you will notice that they are WAY overpriced compared to the market.

Let's put it on the calendar for August 8th. I don't think anyone is back in school yet so that should be good. How many people would be interested in getting a room at the Double Tree in Alsip for either one or both nights? If I can get a head count, I will attempt to get a discounted room rate.
