Those parts prices are I guess a little high but I recall paying about the same for my Cobra impeller, housing and wear plate.

So how difficult is it to replace an impeller???

Never did a Volvo, but I'd guess as long as you have good access to the front of the engine where the impeller is, it can't be too difficult. My old OMC Cobra is very easy, the impeller housing is under a plastic cover at the rear of the upper gear housing.

The Volvo is a piece of cake. I losen the 2 bolts on front then the 2 hoses. Remove the whole pump. On the bench i remove the 3 machine screws and kxpose the inmtller. With neecle nose plyers I pull out the inpeller. Lube the new impeller and rotate the impeller in the same direction as the old one and push down. install the rubber button in top. Now put the plate back on and reinstall. 20 min and save $50
Forgot to add when running the engine check for leaks from the gasket or seal. The seal is $9 list and isnt hard to replace.
