Good idea - used to have a Black & Decker cordless blender but the batteries never lasted that long. This looks like a much better idea.

I have a GSI Vortex hand crank blender. It was a gift. Initially I was skeptical but the damn thing works and it works well. It also stores inside the Lexan pitcher to take up a small foot print of usable boat storage. No electrical/batteries required.

The admiral is constantly trying to figure out ways to hook ours up on the boat One day I may come home and she'll have a 2nd battery set installed with a large power inverter connected up for it.

As crazy commercial as that machine is, and I'm picky about my appliances, it is a fantastic device. That shot was taken last Memorial Day Weekend on the first day I was ever on the hook with the V358. It was also the first time I ever used the generator - and I fired it up only to use the margarita machine. Those were, by far, the most expensive margaritas I have ever had. And man, were they fantastic

The old saying goes "Powerboating and Alcohol do mix....." Not sure the USCG or Harbour Patrol would agree...... Oh well.

The 2005 348 Vista will be my first boat the a Genset. I can't wait to try the blender out on the hook!!!!!! Only 15 more days till I'm out of a 3 month European exile and can try it out.

The drill blender could be handy at the Jimmy Buffet concert.

Not sure I'd want the hassle of trying to juggle the drill and the container. That and few things replace the raw power of a commercial quality blender. I too run the genset mainly for blender drinks and the microwave, not much else. Still, if you don't have a genset it certainly looks like something to consider.

Hey Sierra, is that Margarita machine worth the money (will it last do you think)? The Admiral loves Margaritas and I have been on the fence buying one - the larger one that has the Ice Cube tray on the top (Is that the one you have? I can't tell). Costco has them on now for $200 + change so I was going to grab one for the boathouse project I am trying to get going this season.

I'm sure it would be a daunting task to pull the trigger on the drill while holding onto a 32oz. cup with attached handle. Oh the horror !!
I would not think it was intended to be a replacement for a commercial blender either.

Yeah - mine's the original (which they still sell). I received it as a gift before they started making the newer models which is just as well for the boat since it has the smallest footprint of the three. Here's the complete lineup.
