How do you store your docklines on board when they are not in use?

I always coiled them up and put 2 in the aft storage and 2 sets with me at the helm. I would hook 2 up as I was coming in to the slip or dock.

I keep all 4 in the net bag that the Wally World cover came in. I put them in the ski locker & Hang them on my Hockey tree in the garage to dry after use.

We tie up with friends about 90% of the time we are on the boat so I have to keep mine real handy. We keep 2 lines in each of the gunwhale cubbys. We have some velcro wraps that keep them from getting all twisted up.

All six lines are kept in the locker at the transom/swim deck. The 268 has room for fenders as well!!

I put a bunch of loops in the transom locker, on which I hang the lines. This keeps them from sitting anywhere that might collect water. I picked up several Taylor-Made Tidy-Up line straps:

They come with two loops, designed to loop around a rail and then carry the line below. I cut them in half. Then I screwed each loop into the transom locker (I removed the shelf in there to make room). Makes for a neater looking setup in the locker. But more importantly it makes it much easier to get to the lines. Before they were just thrown into a pile, making it difficult to quickly find the right line when needed.

I keep ours coiled with a velcro wrap and stored in the cubbies on the side of the cockpit.

I keep 2 in the transom locker and 3 more in the port side locker on the 248.

I have cats so I buy my cat litter in the large rectangular plastic containers with lids. I store my lines in there and the container fits snugly and perfectly under the stern bench seat.

Whatever blind engineer they hired on my year boat put the drain plug of the port and starboard floor storage wells about 1/2 inch above the bottom of the storage locker. So when it rains and water gets in everything gets wet because it never drains.
