I put mine on eBay with a reserve. I never intended to sell it on eBay, but thats a GREAT way to find buyers from anywhere in the country. Its how I found my 225, and how I sold it.

I've been considering Ebay. What kind of fees do they charge on a big ticket item like this? How do you handle transportation? And, what about deadbeat bidders?

With a reserve, it cost me $8.

When I bought the boat, the auction ended no with no bids, but I contacted the seller before it ended.

With this boat, I have been fielding questions left and right. It sold before the auction ended, in person, after a great test ride.

When I sold my previous boat I had it on Boat Trader, Craigslist, flyers, adds in the marina, etc. None of them were very successfull. 7 days on ebay and I got more then I was expecting and well above my reserve. Buyers bought it site unseen, they even hired out someone to come up and haul it. The first time they saw the boat was when it arrived at their marina. I'd never buy a boat like that, but apparently other people will. I highly recommend ebay!

Over 1600 hits on the website has yielded one phone call (signs on the boat with #) and several SPAM emails from Craiglist. I'm thinking EBay is the next natural step.
