Well, I borrowed a friends' Canon Rebel XSi for these. I have an Olympus SP550UZ, but it was bought several years ago, and does not have image stabilization. The new Olympus does, but I can't seem to break my old one, to justify a new one, so........ I borrowed his Canon for a few shots.

There's always, the lake .......

Did you use one of the canned "picture styles", such as the fireworks one, or shoot manual?

I tried a few on Auto, a few on Maunual and a few on Night Portrait mode. Some came out better than others, these I posted were Auto I believe.

OK I have never posted pics of my boat and have some from my first fourth. So, how do I post 'em?

Here's a "non-tech" tutotial for posting photos on this forum:

The first thing that you need to know is that your photos MUST be hosted on another web site in order to show them, here, in the iFourWinns forum. In other words, you can not just grab the images from your computer's hard-drive and post them here.

A common term for the process that alllows you to post your photos in this forum is called "hot linking". This is creating a link in your forum post that goes and gets the image from another web site .... and shows it here.

Sooo ..... you must first have your photos hosted on your own web site or a photo hosting service's web site. Some common services are:

* http://www.villagephotos.com

* http://www.imageshack.com

There are many others, as well.

Once you have your photos loaded up on the photo hosting web site (or your own web site ..... or any other web site, for that matter), you can now begin to share them here, with other Four Winns owners.

In order to share your photo here, you must know its address on the web. This is its URL. Your photo hosting service will likely tell you what the URL, for sharing your photo, is. Some of the services have two differnt URLs for your photos. One for your personal viewing and a different one that is to be used for hot-linking ..... sharing on other sites. If your service has a specific URL for sharing (or PUBLIC viewing), this is the one that must be used. If they do have a URL for "public" viewing ... they'll tell you so, and tell you what it is, for each photo.

Method #1:

If your hosting service gives you the "puplic" or "hot-linking" URL for your image, copy it and then come pack here to your post. In the position within your post, where you want the photo, click the Img key in the control panel above your post. Now paste your copied link addrress in between the two bracketed Img codes.

Click the Preview key below your post to see if the image comes up.

Method #2:

You can obtain the URL for an image by right-clicking on the image and then clicking Properties from the pop-up menu. You will get a pop-up screen that shows the properties of the image. Highlight and copy the Address (URL). Now come back to your post and follow the same steps as listed above to post the hot-linked image.

Method #2 can be used to hot-link just about any image from any web site. For instance:

Go to :
http://www.bavauto.com

right click on the small group photo image

Click Properties on the pop-up menu

Highlight and copy the Address of the image

Paste the image into a web browser address bar and click GO

You now have the image on the browser, all by itself.

You can post the image in your forum post, as well, just like your personal images.

Wow, who knew posting pics would be almost as hard as getting in and out of my slip. Let's see if you can now see some pics. I have been asked to post pics of the boat before, but thought the 4th is a good excuse. Here it goes:

Damn, maybe this is harder than boating! :(

Something is wrong in your link address. I can't copy and paste that address into a browser and get anything.

Send me an email of your photo link & I'll have a go at it.

Testing for a Snap Fish account:

Hmmm ... can't get a Snap Fish image to post, by using the link that they supply for sharing a link. However, if I right click on the photo, as I'm viewing it, and get the "properties", copy that and use it here, with the Img key ... I get this .....

Here's one of Zelena's (he gave me an invite to view his album ... so I was able to get the photo properties):

Here is what our 4th of July pictures looked like:
Image

No, we weren't on acid. It turns our our Canon PowerShot S1IS has a recall on the CCD image sensor and they are going to repair our camera for free (even pay for shipping). Here is the website if you are having the same problem with any of their digital cameras: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contr ... delid=9828.
Update: I sent the camera to Canon for repair on 07/08 and got it back today 07/14. Free of charge and it was out of warranty.
