You know, I never really seem to get to enjoy this spot often enough any more with everything that I am trying to get done this "summer" (and I use the summer term loosly). But it seems every time I get back to spending some time catching up with whats being posted TBW is getting into it with someone.
While I do agree that crucifying those enjoying a drink or two while boating is a BS response and blind eye to the real idiocy that goes on in the water - the sad fact is that most people do not understand the concept of moderation and sensability.
Since the government has pretty much eliminated natural selection from our scociety what we need now in North America is an Idoicy Law and it should be met with severe penalties. We can then blanket cover all these BS laws that in reality are mostly excuses and harrassment.
We just had a "No Cell Phone While Driving" law passed because of (guess who?) Idiots that are busy e-mailing, taking pictures, making driving or tourist videos, organizing thier music collection etc. and running red lights and over people in crosswalks. This translates in reality to a couple hundred bucks because the wife calls on your way home to let you know you need milk or she broke down somewhere.
Yet every day I see people driving with dogs bouncing in or sitting in thier laps. I once witnessed; while stopped at a 4 way light with 3 lanes in each direction a lady pass in front of me making a left turn almost plow in to my car because she was busy gazing in the mirror putting on mascara! The cops were in the lane beside me and did nothing. On the Higway home I watched another lady driving with her left foot on the dash putting on nail polish!
There is no dog law, no mascara, curling iron or nail polish laws, no reading law. But if these people were to be charged with Idiocy and thier pictures published in the paper maybe things would change.
The laws in North America gaurantee everyones rights - EXCEPT the people that actually get stuck living by them . . .
So with my once a month stop by and rant complete and back to the original topic . . . Uhh we had a word for doing things as described in that PM. Rat.
