07H200SS has a valid and reasonable point. Everybody handles alcohol differently. Some people can't walk at .08 and others could crochet a frickin quilt. Problem is law is enforced by people who treat everyone one way.

What frustrates me the most is the water cops are sitting in one spot being LAZY. Yes, I said it, lazy. While other J/A's are back in the back areas of the lake screwing around and endangering people...yes these are the ones that need to be arrested and cited....they are doing random checks of people coming off the water and citing Joe Blow boater who blows slightly over the limit but never was or would cause any problems.

And no don't tell me you just prevented an incident by citing that guy. I want the water cops and road cops patroling for people causing a problem/danger.

Well guys, for what it is worth, I have never been breath tested on my boat here in Australia. (However, it would not be unusual to be stopped and tested 3 times on one saturady night in the car).
We always have enforcement officers at boat ramps checking legal minimum sizes of fish and crabs caught.

Not been breath tested in Vicrotia either, but have been pulled over by the Water Police for safety equipment and licence checks several times while on the water. Don't have a problem with this at all...

If you name your boat "Zero 2 Shitty", you have forfeited your right to complain about being stopped by the authorities to see if you've been drinking. Please don't go with the "yeah, but I'm in Wisconsin" defense. Not every cheesehead is an alcoholic.

I wish there were a lot more lake patrols where we boat. The single biggest problem is too much alcohol.

In my defense on the boat name. I didn't put it on there. Previous owner did that and I left it as I have yet to decide what I want to change it to. Plus it is a really nice lloking decal he had made, but I am eventually going to change it.

Not that I don't have my own set of opinions and experiences... for this thread and the other one circulating...

But is it time for all of us to take a step back... maybe have the moderator lock BOTH of the related threads... and let's move on to better topics.

I see this is as a major point of contention - and unfortunately - these are the types of topics best left offline or in peson because of how easily a statement can be perceived at least 1000 different ways.

(trust me, I'm holding back on my opinions - and we all know how opinionated I can be. :D )

leftlane, that is the funniest thing I heard today. Thanks for brightening up my day.
But, no thanks in that I spit my Pepsi all over my keyboard and monitor when I read it, because I was laughing so hard.
It will take a few more minutes to clean it up, but it will be well worth it.
