I grew up boating on Georgian Bay. I guess I've come to expect that all water is clear!!
Out water is crystal clear, and you can easily see 40-50 feet down on some days, depending on the sunlight angle. Water color is all shades of blue, from the turquoise you see in the Caribbean to dark blue, almost black in deep, deep water.

[/quote]Yes Georgian Bay is very beautiful but damn the water is cold! I just did a three day trip in the last week of June from Port Elgin up to Tobermory and around the islands up north of Tobermory. We covered 180 miles and the average water temperature was 58-60 degrees with the warmest we saw was about 63. It was hot out so you wanted to swim but just dipping a foot in cured that thought! Check out Cove Island if you ever get up that way. Great lighthouse and island worth exploring.[/quote
This summer has been a disaster so far (still waiting for it to show up!), so the water temps are about a month behind. Even on the east side of the Bay around Midland, the water is only about 70 in some of the smaller coves.
