Thanks for calling Jeff. We called a few places to. no luck. and the first fab guy said he couldn't do it. I'm willing to bet I can find a good hydraulic guy in the next week. Sadly, this means no boat for 4th. :(

I spoke to an individual yesterday at the Grand Rapids Four Winns Dealership in Michigan. He states that orders may take up to 6 weeks due to issues with the company. What issues I don't know. I had a small leak on mine but the mechanic was able to snug it up.

http://www.marinepartsexpress.com in Maine. THey called volvo sweden and just now ordered it for me with a 72 hour turn around time. Why couldn't anyone else do this? THe guys at marine parts express made it seem like it wasn't a big thing at all.

scratch that. that place is very un professional. they lied through out the process. then could not deliver on the 72 hour promise. And said they wouldn't know when the part would show up. And expected 250 sur charge for the so called expedited order. WHich they had originally guaranteed would not be charged if I gave them the serial number of my engine. I told them to keep their part. They hung up on me. I called my service guy at Eagle Marine. And he said the part he had originally ordered would be in by the end of the week anyway. Go figure.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. MPE has always provided first class service for me in the 6 years I have used them. I will continue to recommend them for most Volvo Penta parts.

But from one of your previous posts, some problems down the road were eminent.

Quote:
Yes I did get it independently surveyed. It came out fine but in need of TLC. It was not completely sea trialed only a few laps forward and back at sub 10knots. I knew coming in this boat would require some work.

I hope the rest of the season goes well for you.

Yeah the boat is fine. Some work was expected as with any used boat. I'm finding out there are no more problems then if I would have bought it used from a dealership.

As for MPE, I'm sure the company as a whole is great. This time they failed in customer service and order processing truth. Generally in my eyes, all companies are only as good as their last service engagement. You cant tell a customer you guarantee something if in fact you cant deliver on the act or service. You shouldn't charge a customer an extra "expedited order surcharge" if you cant actually expedite the order beyond regular shipment times. In short they lied to get the order. Afterwards, they were not able to provide the service requested in the order in the time requested. To top things off. The rep I talked to simply chose to hang up on me while having a civil conversation about the situation. In the end...it was poor judgement on their part to take the order and poor judgement on me for believing they would deliver on their promise.
