I know a few of you guys have the E80. I can't seem to get the aerial photos to display. When I press "view photo" nothing appears. I also can't project the satellite imagery overlay. When I increase the transparency, nothing happens. It is projecting the 3D imagery though. It also shows the pilot notes. So it seems like I'm getting a few of the features.. It could use the software update and I plan to try that but I doubt that's the issue. My card is the "905P" software. I also see that Raymarine doesn't put a customer service phone # on their site. Anybody have a number for them?

Is using this chart new to this plotter? Have you rebooted the plotter, letting it start with that card inserted? There is a reset to defaults function buried in the menus somewhere, that may be worth trying as a last resort.

Truth be told I never use any of the platinum features. They're just not that useful for typical recreational use. They're cool looking, I'll grant you, just not something I ever find myself needing to use. Go figure.

As I recall there were some options regarding how much was displayed, not necessarily just by transparency. I'll try and check it tomorrow.

Did you figure this out? I must say that Raymarine customer service is poor at best and very frustrating. E-mail seems to be the only way to get them.

After several e-mails back and forth with them, I decided that I will find a solution around them. My 2 cents.

Well Raymarine thought I needed the software upgrade. They just finished V5.52 and it isn't even on their website yet so they sent it out to me. Apparently the software isn't the problem.. or at least not the only problem. I guess maybe my chip is eff'd up.. I'll be calling Navionics tomorrow..

Just to update, the issue was solved with a new Navionics chip. Saved by West Marine again! :)

Thanks Jnizi. And thanks to Bill who offered to let me try my chip in his plotter. Bill, I'll try to save the software update before I send it back just in case you still want it. Then we can hook up whenever.
