Hey - I just picked up my new to me 2006 H210 5.0 GXi with 90 hours last weekend. We've only had her out once but it was a huge improvement over our 18' fish/ski we had.

I have a couple questions!

The gas was supposedly empty when we got it and then I put in 20 gallons and it now reads full. I don't recall seeing the tank in plain view. I would like to get a visual just to see the level if possible. I'm sure there has to be a cover or panel I can remove.

The engine cover/sundeck appears to be slightly warped. It sits down fine on the left but the right corner is slightly raised. Any idea's to get it straightened out? It's not a huge problem but it aggravates me when I see it! ha ha

It came with the snap on canvas but we're looking for a storage cover that will accomodate the tower. A local company quoted $650 for Sunbrella secured with bungee's down the side. They've done work for me before and I'm thinking this is a good price from what I've seen on line.

Anyway, here are a couple pics.

In Yellow. Really nice.
The only spot I know of to get a visual of the tank is through the little door under the cooler in the bench. Sadly all you will see is the top of the tank and the sending unit as I recall. You will be able to see if its full but thats about it. It might be possible to see it if you feel like removing the engine bay access panel behind the seat (doubt it) or the engine bay side panels (could go either way).

As for the sundeck - yeah mine is warped too and has been since I bought it (ordered from factory) I suspect it is not much more than a sheet of covered plywood and the lift rams push it up on one side more-so than the other. I have been considering screwing a small aluminum angle across the bottom and mounting the rams to it - or maybe just moving them inboard to the divider walls so they are closer to the release (but then there will be nothing to hold it up if the dividers need be removed for maintenance). Thanks for that actually - I had kind of forgotton about that - now it's going to bug me again

As for the cover; it is hard to beat the factory tow cover - though to be fair it is substantially more $ than the one you mention.

Get some fenders on that thing before you bang up your boat!

That yellow sure has grown on me... It's a great combo for the lake! Nice boat!

Thanks! We really like it so far. We also looked at Sea Rays but they were all over 25k and didn't have the features this boat has.

I WILL GET BUMPERS TONIGHT!!!!!

Wow that is a deal for 19k - private owner or dealer?

Private party. The SS prop and drive unit is in perfect condition with no dings. They have a 19 installed but with two people I get to 5100 RPM which is above the normal range so I have to watch it. I guess I will appreciate this prop when I have more people or pulling a tube, etc...

I will say they could have kept her a little cleaner...She has some oxidation above the rub rail and needs a good cleaning. It's not terrible but I'm an anal IT guy. A little elbow grease and she'll look like new. We found the boat on Craigslist and drove a couple hours to pick her up. Hopefully she'll do us right this weekend!

Better make that 3.
Frustrating isn't it . . . taking twice as long as regular folk who are off enjoying the fruits of thier labor as we agonize over the details.
Question remains though - whos rewards last longer?
Being AR I am baffled you have her tied with no fenders - or do you have people out of sight in the water stationed between it and the dock monitoring sasfactory spacing. Hmph. I had my fenders, waxes etc bought before the boat . . .

IT people are everywhere!!! ha ha

I was in a rush that day to take her out since we didn't when we bought her (another story but it's the past so I'm going to leave that one alone!) I now own two bumpers that will do for now. I will probably order a couple fenders online when I have more time to research what's good. I will also need an anchor! I gave everything away when I sold my previous boat thinking we wouldn't get a boat for a couple years but that only lasted six weeks...dumb me.

I need to pick up a wool pad tomorrow so I can go to town on the oxidation before we go out. I tried to cut it by hand tonight with some 3M Color Restorer but it wasn't working. I kept telling myself if Danielson could do it so could I but I just didn't have enough mojo to keep going. I don't think they ever put wax on her...sad sad sad The area below the rub rail is perfect so this shouldn't take too long!

Welcome aboard! I am glad that you made to this forum.... You will have a lot of fun here...
We are hireling good IT guys.... Wanna move to Boston?

Fuel tank of H210 is 42 gallon and you can get access by removing floor panel off. It is kinda pain in a neck job and take a little time. ( the panel is sealed with sealer) If you ever do it you should double check tank is secure and no chance of moving forward. The tank has a tendency to move forward and pinch a drain line from ski locker..... some people put 3/4" thick rubber block to avoid this....

I've posted it before, but my gas tank is only 42 gal as well. I have put in over 50 gal more than once..... still donno where it goes. Put damn near 50 gal just "topping off" on the water once. I don't trust the gas gage, and don't recommend you do either. I just top it after 2-3 days out... whether that is 2 one-day weekends, or one holiday weekend. Come up with a system, and ya won't get surprised, or wiped out!

Sharp boat, good luck with it!
