Ok so as it goes we start looking at stepping up in size, as we all do at some point! :D

What's your opinion about this boat at about 60K? This includes trailer, lift, A/C, generator, and so on. It has never been slept in and the shower has never been used. Only 27 hours total!

No stones un-turned. Point out what i am missing. How far off is the price?

Thanks aguyintexas for getting me looking..............lol

That would be sweet .... big-block, gen & heat/AC.

I haven't been watching prices on these, but I imagine that's an "asking" price.

We got our 2006 from Orlando in January, same options as the one listed except for the lift and it included a gatorhyde trailer instead of painted and it included a GPS and vhf radio. 145 hours on the clock.

Big block is the only way to go, imho.

We just found out our generator was only running on 1 cylinder and caused it to run at WOT, very loud. Runs a lot quieter now, but have not checked noise level inside.

Price is about 15% higher than what we got ours for.

If you bought at 60k I dont think you would be doing bad with the lift and all ( assuming you need or can use the lift). But as M3 says, thats the asking price, im sure you could get them to move alittle. Even though it doesnt have many hours and looks like new, I would still get the all important survey done.

Good luck, looks like an awsome vessle, would love to have a big black in ours.

Looks like a nice package overall for a 278. Much better than what this guy is listing his 268 for. He is dreaming with this one. (Thanks for the link Wet Doggg)

There is a nice 06 278 for $59,000.00 that has been for sale for a long time on this site. He has also listed it on Craig's list, Boat Trader and on E-Bay for most of the summer. His boat has a smaller motor, no radar arch, trailer or lift. His has less that 60 hours. I think he tried to get $68,000.00 for it when it was first listed.

The Boat that you are looking at has all of the goodies that most of us would want. I bought my 2003 268 this year that is in mint condition with 60 hours for $31,000.00. It does not have the arch, generator or air. The extra's on the boat that you are looking at would be nice to have. If I ever buy another boat it will have a generator, and air. Mine has the 320 horse motor and I am very happy with that but from what I have read the big block would also be a nice addition.

I would cosider that boat as it will last you many years and you will not have to upgrade anything major. Do not expect it to hold it's value in todays market.

Cool .... a stripper for the price of fully loaded !

I do have sympathy though ... probably owes that much.

Thanks guys for all the information and opinions! It doesn't look like they will come off the price yet. I asked how much less would the price be without the lift, he said 66K. Last night he told me 66K was his bottom dollar for boat/trailer/lift. Sounds like he owes 66K! :D

I'm not going to rush into anything until I'm smart on the cruiser options and all of you guys agree it's a smart buy.

I just realized something and the owner sort of confirmed it in an email. All of the pictures are when the boat was BRAND NEW. I noticed shipping stickers etc attached on the boat. Plus he just told me the boat is wet slipped right now. The condition probably isn't much different but could be. Especially below the water line. He is suppose to send current pictures. Stay tuned and thanks!!

Oops, I didn't look at the price in the add, I just took thought it was up for 60k form your post, the 67 seems on the high side to me, but it does have all the bells and whistles on it, with the big block and the lift is definitely icing on the deal. I guess its all in how much you want it. I know the bigger engines dont seem to be that common for some reason.

I can't wait until someday we can afford something like that. Gen,Ac/heat would be so nice.

That is pretty much identical to my 2008 278 except mine is blue. I don't know what good the lift will do you if you can't use it but I had to give some pretty good money for my lift. I bought my boat in 2007 before the slide in the economy and I can probably guess what this went for new in the Ozark's. I don't doubt that there might be boats that go for less but that is not a bad price for that boat with only 27 hours on it and in good condition. With only 27 hours on it how much could they have done to it? I guess it depends on whether or not you really want the boat. He will have to store this over the winter and will take a loss on storage and depreciation so he might be looking at having to ask less next spring if it doesn't sell before winter. Kind of hard to believe but used boats are moving right now in our area. The salesman at our marina has been pretty busy for the past few months.

That looks like a nicely equipped very clean boat. Of course we do not know what the reserve price is. The biggest drawback for me on that vintage Sea Ray was that the steps to access the foredeck are on the door. If the door is open you are stranded. I also worry about the door coming off its slides with all the traffic on the steps.

Good point. I started another topic so not to confuse the first boat (Vista) thread with this find (Searay). I learn something everytime I go looking at the different boats. Thanks for your input!
