If you have the time, skills, money and patience, you might be able to get this 248 re-done and have yourself a nice boat for lots less.

I can't figure out what those hooks would be used for...

My best guess was to hold a privacy curtain when then the forward birth is used.

I wonder why the insurance company wrote the boat off if it is just a simple fix? I think we aren't being told the whole story in that ad. I also don't believe a $25 K investment for that size boat is worthy of the designation "project boat" You can buy alot of boats that size and larger for that amount of coin which are turnkey. The guy is dreaming.

I am speculating in the above statements but just am not getting a good vibe form the ad.

It looked to me as if it was right in front of the mirror, and then over the doorway?

I know on my 268 there is a curtain in place to close off the aft cabin from the rest of the cabin...

The clips look like fishing rod holders. Look above the mirror and you will see where the end of the rod would go

Even if you replaced the headliner and replaced/repaired the cabinet, I would worry about getting the smell out.

I ask the seller a few questions on ebay:

Dear capemayfinds,

Hi,
What is the estimate for repair? How much for a trailer? Is there anything else wrong with the boat besides the fire damage?

Here's what he says:

IN THE FRICKEN DESCRIPTION IT STATES IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT THEN CONTACT ME OTHERWISE GO AWAY

- capemayfinds

I cannot tell you what I said back to him.

The listing is through one of those "sell it for you" ebay sellers.

The guy sounds like just the person I'd want working for me!

I am amazed at how these consignors don't want to make a sale. They must charge people upfront for a listing fee or something. The 1993 Vista I bought should have sold for atleast triple what I paid for it but it was listed poorly and the guy had all kinds of conditions that scared many people away (I assume). I gambled and won but see it continuously either the items sell too low or else they never sell because they are listed too high. Lots of people think Ebay is the best place in the world but I have better luck putting things at the end of my driveway than online anywhere!

We should all send this guy about 10 emails each telling him he's a moron... no marketing experience obviously!
