Finally getting around to posting my grill mount. I chose the pedestal mount from Magma.
Image

I already had the Catalina grill from my cruiser.

The base from the pedestal mount was pretty low and flat I chose to mount it out of the way on my swim platform so as not to trip over it. I have the swim platform mat so I can hide it when not in use.

Now you see it.....

Now you don't....

Man I can't wait until summer!

Nice work tennja. I like the pedestal mount much better than the rail mount style. It looks good.

Some folks have mounted this under the platform ladder door. However, some boats don't have enough room for it under there.

Question - where do you store the grill when not in use?

Looks great. If only it would work with my Magma Kettle grill.

We haven't used it yet. It came with the 268. Storage will be an issue if we go bigger, as we haven't even had this on board with us yet.

Thanks guys easy to do. The biggest downside so far is that it traps water.

Cincy: Anytime, good to hear that your still around. Looks like we missed our opportunity last week. It's cold and snowy now again. I guess we'll have to wait a few months.

Cougar: I thought about mounting it under the ladder door but then my kids couldn't board the boat while I am cooking. As far as storage the 260 has a ton I put it in the ski locker when not in use. The pole stores under the cooler next to the cockpit table pole under the starboard side seat cushions.

Fire: Magma makes a pole mount for the kettle as well. It looks like if you do upgrade you would be able to use it on one of their gourmet series grills as too.

It looks like its at a pretty good height for grilling when its on the pole. I might have to wait and check out your mount in person before I decide which way to go.

Yeah, you can't tell from that perspective. I can sit on the sun pad and man the grill. Here are a couple more images from different angles. We might hit Brookville for Memorial weekend.

Sounds good. We may or may not be out there Memorial Day weekend, we try to shy away on those weekends, although we did have a great time last Memorial Day on Brookville. What made you go with the Catalina vs. Newport? I am pretty set on the Newport, but I can get a great deal on a one year old Catalina if I can make it fit.

I didn't choose. The admiral got it for me for fathers day one year. Probably one of the best gifts ever. But I would get choose the Catalina over the Newport again if I had the choice. I like the "warming" rack the Catalina has. Unlike my grill at home, these have only one burner. Often I want to keep the heat on but get stuff out of the direct flame. Comes in handy if I am cooking Brats for the adults and Dogs for the kids.

Great looking mount! Any idea how the Catalina would do with the rail mounts on the bow grab rails of the 260?
