Jinizi- We had a great experience with GSC! Jerry, Paul, and Dennis are all extremely nice and easy to work with! I first started dealing with GSC at the 2009 Chicago boat show, which is the same show I probably talked your ear off about that 258 not just saturday, but sunday too....sorry about that! We would love to do a Starved Rock trip in the fall so I'll definitely keep you posted on that. How long do you think that would take from Chicago?

Tim- We live at the southern tip of lake Michigan approx 30mi SE of Chicago by water. Unfotunatly we've been so limited due to the size of our old boat that we really just stay close by the harbor. Lake Michigan can turn ugly so quickly that we never ventured much further that 20 miles from Burns waterway. We mostly just go to boaters beach(approx 5mi away) and bbq with friends. We are hoping to get alot more use out of this boat with weekend trips to Chicago,New Buffalo Mich,South Haven, Saugatuck Mich, ect.
I absolutely love Door County!! I've vacationed in Sturgeon Bay every summer for the past 24 yrs! I think a trip there in the boat is definitely in our future, but probably not till next year :(

You made a great choice and I'm glad to hear GSC treated you well. I was my pleasure to chat with you and your fiancee. I love the opportunity to talk boating in the middle of the winter. It makes the winter go by faster. Good luck with the marriage and the ceremony.

It was about 14 hours between the lake and our pool on the Illinois. We do plan on getting up to the lake this summer and will contact you.

Best of luck. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Hey, if you ever plan a trip to door let me know. Would be fun to boat together. I'll probably be spending almost every weekend there. I'm only about 2 hrs east of door. With my work schedule I get a few 3 day weekends per month. Just bought a sundowner 235 last oct so I'm anxious to get it out. Also, I grew up just south of Chicago, in Blue Island.
Have fun with the new boat

Congrats!! Wife and I did the same thing almost 10yrs ago. Bought our 2000 268 as a wedding gift to each other. This May will be out 10th and we still love the boat. It just seems to have gotten smaller with time. Or is that kids

Thanks jpeloian thats very encouraging, but I'm kinda hoping there isn't a connection between the 10 years of successful marriage and keeping the same boat! I'm on my third boat in two years, just closed on our 268 two weeks ago, and was looking lustfully at a gorgeous 318 on the internet this morning
