I believe you can can use Dexron III. I have this conversation with my dealer and that is what they generally use unless the customer specifies. There are a lot of equivilants out there to this.
Overfilling is not the best thing for it as this fluid might expand when it is heated. The warmer it gets the greater the pressure may become in the power steering system

I'll bet it's nothing more than re-labeled Dexron auto trans fluid because that's what the p/s pump on my OMC takes...the manual says that you should use OMC tilt n trim fluid in the trim pump and for the p/s pump it says to use that OR Dexron...so I use Dex for both...
