If Ethanol free gas is not easily accessible, is adding Sta-bil Ethanol Treatment going to help protect the gas, gas lines, engine and so on?

Yes. It's designed to "protect" everything. However, it doesn't make up for the horsepower loss.

Uhm...guess I'll just get a bigger engine to help that issue

Good to know - looks like the local Mill's Fleet Farm has pure gas, and is cheaper too! Looks like I'll be buying most boat gas there this season.

How much horsepower loss in general can be attributed to ethanol additions? Is there a difference between regular and premium ethanol gas blends with respect to horsepower loss?

Ethanol make 2/3 the energy of gasoline. So, whatever % blend you get (usually 8-10) is what you multiply. For mileage purposes, you should pay about $0.10 less for the ethanol blends vs. pure gasoline.
