Well, I was (am) ordering for Mark's boat as well as mine...just figured this would be easier...sadly, I probably wont do this again. Too much hassle.

Just to update on this thread...

On Wednesday 4-14, I called back in and spoke with my salesperson. I was again told that the parts were not in and they would ship when they got them. I asked why they seemed to be the only dealer in the country unable to get parts from Volvo in a timely matter and was again told...I dont know. At this time, I was offered an order cancellation, which I did do. They then said my money would be refunded in about 2 weeks, depending on banking policies etc...After it was cancelled, I hung up the phone.

Two minutes later, I decided to call back. I asked for the manager or owner. After a couple minutes, they put the IT Guy on the phone (apparently, he was the closest thing to a manager at the time). I explained the problem, and he assured me I would have the parts by this coming Monday.

Yesterday, I got an email from MPE that was a copy of a drop ship order from MPE direct to Volvo. Today, I came home to a box of parts, that were shipped directly from Volvo. Great, I am certainly happy.

One questions still remains...why did it take them a month to get something done when apparently, a quick order to Volvo got this handled overnight?

I'm sure he can, just like any reputable dealer, but him just like any "parts guy" does not send orders in until they have a decent size order to place. So it may be faster service , and it may not.

Unlike most dealers, Winnisquam stocks a surprising amount... at least of the basics for most general service work.

They have 7-8 techs full time - they need the inventory.

I guess that's one reason they've had a stellar year versus most dealers scraping by.

Don't get me wrong, I wait for parts... but that's usually FedEx or UPS' fault.

I'll agree that they do have a surprising amount of parts in stock, and they came through for me with a cabin door latch.
I can tolerate a bit of a wait to get the correct part. Some people can't.

And conversely, I've waited for Winnisquam and had to call back several times. Nobody's perfect.

I never heard back from them about what I was looking for.

I have experienced this myself.

So did they get the parts from http://www.volvopentastore.com/ which is a link on Volvo's main website? If so, then we can order direct from Volvo ourselves. This is where I order my parts from and have always gotten them timely.

They were drop shipped direct from Volvo (no reference of "Volvo Penta Store") in Georgia...FedEx, overnight.

Well Monday it will have been four weeks since I placed my order with MPE. Under normal circumstances this would be annoying but considering that they have already charged my card it is really unacceptable. I will probably be cancelling my order. Its too bad really. I used to hold them in high regard.

Call and act stupid. Talk to Henry, he was the guy that helped me. Believe it or not...he told me he is their "web/it" guy. My salesperson is "Bob"...for what thats worth. When you talk to Henry...tell him about my situation (PM me for personal info) and demand you get the same treatment.
