Hi, I was hoping some one could answer this question. I picked up my new to me 2008 H180/matching trailer a couple of weeks ago and love it (handles like a sports car). The only thing it did not have was a spare tire(6 bolt 225/75D15). Tha dealer told me it would 4 to 6 weeks to get one from 4winns (don't like traveling without a spare). I found a tire that might work but not the right mount for the trailer. Has anybody used anything other than 4Winns matching tire/mount? Thanks

Welcome aboard!

Check out this thread. Some good info there. Also, browse through the trailer section. Most, if not all the fw trailers are a 6 lug on 5.5 pattern as you've found out. Pay attention to that when you pick up a mount as most that I have seen are for 4/5 lug rims. Don't forget to check the trailer frame size too...

I picked up a spare/rim with the same tire size and bolt pattern at a local trailer shop, but found out when I needed it that the offset of the rim place the time a fraction of an inch further in than the stock rims. Since the wheel well angles in toward the time, this caused the spare to rub on the inside of the wheel well. I had to remove a bolt and place a shim in order to get home.

Got mine from these guys. Had it in two days with the tire mounted and full of air.

6 lugs is harder to come by.

I have galvanized trailer so its not pretty, but the wheels help. The spare is my old "emergency" purchase when I had a blow out and no spare. I will maybe upgrade it or just buy a cover.

Click link and find the one you need.

Then check Farm & Fleet for a mount. We have Fleet Farm up here by me, but they carry mounts. Not sure they are the exact one you need though.

Maybe we need to take a poll on that, my 08' duel axle has 5 lug rims...

My 07 H200SS had 6-lug Aluminum wheels. I think the aluminum are 6-lug and the steel are 5-lug? I may be wrong.

I ordered the Four Winns trailer wheels (the nice aluminum ones) from iboats. They sent the 5 lug even though I triple verifed on the phone with them that I needed the 6 lug. So I called and said send me the 6 lug and send UPS to get the wrong ones. They only had one left of the 6 lug and their manufacturer was not making them anymore. Thats how I ended up at sturdybuilt.

Check out the sturdybuiltonline in my previous post. Great guys and I had them the next day (I could have driven to them, but for $30 why). Might take longer if you are not in FL. The spare mount was from them too (But that you can get cheaper elsewhere, I just wanted to get it all done).

And nope, no commission to me from them lol.

I can vouch that at some point between 2007 and 2009, Four Winns changed the tire size on the H180 trailer. My '07 had 5 stud 14" rims, and the '09 has the 6 lug 15" rims. I am guessing that the change was made along with the change to disc brakes on the trailer, most likely to match the different disc hub.

Kinda odd.... my 08' has 4 205/75/14 tires on 5 lug rims... and I have disc brakes & LED lights. I have a F204, but I wouldn't think the trailer would be that much different, just the bunk arrangement perhaps.

At any rate, mine didn't come with a spare, and finding a rim to match the other 4 was no easy chore.

Great site/ great boat. Thanks for the input on the spare tire/mount. Dealer told me with luck they may have what I need in two weeks. Seems to be a small problem getting parts from 4winns in my area. I.m hoping the dealer is right. If not I will be ordering on line. Summers in Wisconsin are way to short to wait for parts Thanks again New Berlin WI.
