The guy who is on a head to head collision with my boat, and as I start veering to my right, he veers to his left, then he cuts back to the right. GO RIGHT... its simple.

My biggest peeve is jet skiers who try and jump my wake while underway. Some get way too close for comfort and in my opinion, it's extremely unsafe. I usually back off the throttle and come to a crawl, and they generally get the message then. A royal PITA.

Another is the fact that we boat on a big lake and often sit out and drift while the kids swim, etc. Why is it that other boats want to blow by you within a couple hundred feet or so on full plane? Do they not realize the resulting wake makes for an uncomfortable situation for those trying to relax?

Sometimes I just don't get it.

Very sad story-- A few years ago a guy I knew from high school was boarding behind a boat and wiped out. Another boat was planning to cut across the wake behind the pulling boat from the right. The water was honestly too rough to be skiing, so the boat didnt see him and hit him going about 25 mph. He didnt survive, so every time I see something like this happening I want to chase them down and sink their boat to prevent them from endangering others.

I could list ten just from the ramp!

#1-#3 do NOT park in the ramp lanes! staging, loading, or unloading.
#4 courtesy docks are not for tying up to go eat lunch
#5 courtesy docks are not for fishing (see signs) damn non-boaters
#6 check your gear BEFORE you are on the ramp
#7 make sure your boat is in proper running order before you are on the ramp
#8 if you can't back a trailer, ask for help
#9 move out of the way while you're waiting for your trailer to be backed down
#10 The guy in the yellow boat with the black Lexus will yell at you if you screw up on 1-3.

#11 Non- boaters hanging at the courtesy ramp (dangling their feet in the water) just for something to do, that refuse to move so you can tie off (not to mention, when approaching it looks kinda like they are holding a spot for another boat to approach if you are on the water waiting to retrieve your boat).

#12 boaters who take FOREVER to launch or retrieve their boat --I've had MAJOR problems and still retrieved in a reasonable time fashion.

#13 Boaters that launch their boat, leave the vehicle and trailer on the ramp cause they are just taking it out for a (45 minute) test run.

#14 People who refuse to get wet (even if it's just their feet) launching their boat....Granted it can be done, but if you can't do it, don't waste 30 minutes trying.

#15 People who NEED help launching or retrieving, that offered help, and refuse... Killing everyone else's time waiting on them.

People who back their trailers in way too far and can't figure out why they can't get their boats on straight. Sure it's a little more work to crank the boat up the trailer, but it's the only way to get it on the first try. Drives me crazy waiting for these people to pull their boat out and then have to back it back down and start all over.

Guys with more money than brains who run big boats and for some bizarre reason run them in a plowing mode which is the least efficienct and throws a huge wake and bounces all the smaller boats around. They look like fools plowing across the bay with the bow so high they can't see using a lot more gas and creating giant wakes....why they don't just plane out the boat the way it was designed to be run is beyond me. Maybe they never tune the engines or clean the bottom and they CAN'T plane the boat.....

I agree with the idiot tubing....yes, we tube also but go where nobody else is. We usually go to a cove to board/ski as do others - most people are smart enough to figure out all other boats in there are boarding and are either all going clockwise or counterclockwise in the cove. It never fails that some fool will come zig zagging thru snatching 3 kids on a tube doing figure 8's. You would think if they wanted big waves for their tube go hit the main part of the lake??? FYI - I'm new to this forum and my first post....just picked up the H210SS Saturday and hit the lake Sunday.
#2
Using the courtesy dock at the launch as a private docking area....had a sailboat last Saturday tied up blocking access and had people stacked up 3 deep waiting to get their trailers....problem solved - to whoever Popeye is - i deemed your sailboat as an extension of the dock and we ALL used it as such.
#3
Parking your tow vehicle/trailer so that you are taking up 2 or 3 spaces. If you cant park in one lane, please stay home and put your boat up for sale because your hopeless.
# 4 -
ex-girlfriend who assures you she can drive and back up a trailer and has done it many times for her dad...then backs your trailer into a brand new trailer with what used to be led's. Learned my lesson on that one the hard way:( My fault I know!

People who have no clue how to tie a boat up to a dock properly. This includes not knowing what a spring line is for, and using any old bit of string as a line and hoping the boat says put.

One thing that cracks me up (and will cause you to NOT be tying up to my boat) is pulling up with either no fenders out or fenders the size of tampons, expecting me to let you scratch the crap out of my boat.

Needville....its Southwest of Houston. Actually did the trial on my boat at Lake Lewisville since i got it from Phil Dill. Long round trip drive (10+ hrs on road) but found nothing like it around here.

This is why my wife wanted us to "unofficially" name our boat "Qwitcher Bitchin'".
