I just found out the pump that pumps out the gray water from the shower head does not work. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thx.

First, Check to make the float switch is not stuck. If you need a new one, they are easy to install. Attwood is an easy find. Make sure that you install one with an internal float switch so it won't get stuck in the future.

I had the same problem with my 298, if you have not bought one yet, check Amazon, they are the cheapest. I am going to buy the entire enclosure and pump together $99 with free instalation. The orginal owner must have messed with the original pump and cabinet because the inlet connection is covered with plastic cement (he probably broke it by tightening the clamp too hard) whatever he did, he also made the biggest marine wiring mistake and made the electrical connections inside the box! If you do not need the entire enclosure, Ebay has pumps for extremely cheap, as stated above go with a direct replacement which is probably attwood, however, Rule is also a good brand, dont go with a cheapo.

Sump boxes are a huge pain in the ass. If you have to replace it, get the one that has clips for removing the lid, not the kind that requires removing screws. Can't recall if it's a Rule or an Atwood, but it's one of the two. Given the mess than can accumulate in the sump you want to be cleaning it out on a regular basis. The mold and slime that can grow in there is just nasty. Best to stay ahead of it.

Meanwhile it's likely to be the switch, the pump or the wiring connections. Start by manually fiddling with the float switch (assuming it's separate from the pump). The the wiring. Check that power is present by using a volt meter. The float switches and pumps are known to fail, regardless of brand. Just seems to be more of a consumable maintenance item that you might first think.

And note that if you use a lot of soap it's possible for the suds to keep the float from working properly. This leads to the sump getting too full and the pump not keeping up. Which, in turn, may cause the water to back up out of the sump, usually overflowing into the AC unit collection pan.

Yet another fun surprise about how boating isn't quite the same as being at home. Plumbing, electrics, etc, each with a few limitations that aren't always obvious.

I had the same problem with the shower box in my 23.8. I had to replace the Attwood float switch. The guys are correct about the internal condition of the shower box. Do yourself a favor and make it as easy as possible for removal and re-installation. I used male / female solderless connectors with some dielectric grease on the wires and quick disconnect hose connections. Now I disconnect the wires and hoses to the box, remove two screws with my cordless drill and take the whole thing into the garage for cleaning. In or out takes about 20 seconds!
