IMHO, the 5k unit is too small. But we like to boat at lake powell when day time temps are in the 100's and night time lows maybe get down to 80's. The 5k btu unit really struggles. I want a bigger unit.

If you see any temps over 90, I would go bigger.

What do your temps get down to Powell?

It was in the 90's over the weekend. I was able to maintain 78 in the cabin in the hot sun, and got down to 72 at night. I think the solid blue hull side plays a big role. Temps coming out of the vents are good according to Cruisair. I don't know what else to check.

Just curious, if you are not sleeping at the time, why do you feel the need to run your AC while
on the hook or while underway ?

We don't need to...but it is nice to be able to cool off in the cabin if you want to. Next weekend I will try and just turn it on before we call it a night and see how long it takes to cool.

What boggles my mind is how Bliss36 and Flyer51 can keeps their boats so cool compared to me.
