Well if you take a look at most trailer manufacturers based in Florida where the water is as salty as it gets...the top of the line trailers are usually aluminum framed, torsion axle/stainless steel brake bunk trailers...not too many top of the line ones are even galvanized...

Here were the water is not so salty but plenty salty enough to corrode things...a cheaper galvanized trailer will last a long time but the springs and brakes (if not the better silver cad discs) will have to replaced about every 5 years or so depending on use...
I have an old 1994 Load Rite galvanized trailer and I've replaced the axle (to add brakes), springs 2x, and all of the ubolts on the trailer...but the frame has no rust on it...
