Couldn't find my original post, but this happened to me a couple years ago. Dropped anchor, hung out and swam for awhile, couldn't understand why my anchor was so heavy when retrieving, and found my anchor hooked the loop at the end of another anchor rode. Pulled in that anchor too, and had me a rather large generic fortress anchor for free.

Well, this past weekend it happened again. Again my anchor hooked the loop at the very end of the anchor line, and this time I pulled in a large 'mushroom-style' anchor. What are the odds? This one was bigger than the one on my pontoon, so cleaned it up and swapped it out. Still have yet to find a use for the oversized fortress clone. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to get picky, and start throwing some back!

That's too funny!! I never picked up another anchor although we anchored off one day swam a while then went to retreive the anchor the windlass was very slow..found out the anchor had wedged itself into a concrete block. I had to bang on the thing with the heaviest pair of pliers to break it loose!

Not an anchor but I did pull up some piece of an old farm drag. That sucker was heavy to pull up.

It was some years ago but I once pulled up a whole NEWSPAPER MACHINE. The kind you see on street corners. Must've gotten washed down during a heavy storm or hurricane.

I recently pulled up the buoys for our ski course on our lake. Then after backing out of them
I cought one of the buoys in my props. It was funnier after the fact.
