Hey everyone, I'm wondering if I can get some help on two different types of wakeboard racks. FW offers the racks that attach directly to the cross members of a wakeboard tower (top pictures). I'm more familiar with the type that clamps to the tower (bottom picture). For those that have the cross members attachment, have you had any issues with it? Does it rattle or move? Pros & cons?

Also, the cost is similar for both (found some good prices on ebay) and I can't decide which looks better. I think they both look good! :? What do you think? Thanks everyone for your input!

I bought a kneeboard fingers matching the FW set-up through DIY wake. Good prices and response. This bolted right on the the existing mounting.

I have the direct mount one. Installed two years ago & still solid. Even with all the stereo play, fasteners are still tight & it has a super clean look. BTW, these make great life jacket hangers!

And I actually use the tower supports for holding my life jackets. As Brent could probably attest to, the drippy stays out of the boat, and they dry out REALLY FAST... especially at 50 mph!

I ordered this set up yesterday. For the price, I shopped and decided to go with one swivel, rotating Wakeboard set as well as 1 set to hold Ski's for the other side of the tower. I measured my Four Winns Stainless Steel Arch tubes and got the 2 inch - both sets for $589 + shipping. I will get back and let you know how I like them after I get them installed and some use on them.

I was trying to stay closer to the $300 range and went with the factory look - attached to the cross members. I installed it and had the board on it all weekend on the lake. I do like the clean look of it and the clamps are very solid. I don't think it's going to budge one bit.

Aside from being great life jacket hangers, my ski locker now has tons of storage with the board out and on the rack!
