Oh no, didn't think that at all! Everything will be fine, it's all just bad timing as far as boating's concerned. I really appreciate everyone's well-wishes!

Wow-1600 views?!!! That must mean I'm required to update....

Well, as promised by Michigan, our boats made it to the dealer on Friday. They put us at the front of the line service-wise and had them almost ready today. I went down there myself today to get a look at them and they looked BEAUTIFUL. Best part of the whole deal was that I was overly impressed with their appearance, and the sales guy says, "We haven't even detailed them yet." WOW.

Now the dealer is really wanting to take care of us because of our wait, and their first part of doing that was an offer for the sales guy and the service manager to tow me and my brother's boats to KC from Lake of the Ozarks (about a 2 hour drive on the best of days) and personally deliver them either to our house or the in-town lake of our choice.

Sadly, I had to reject that offer since my lake is only roughly one hour from the dealer, but is 2 hours from my house in KC. So, I said I appreciated that offer but I would just come and get it myself and make my tow to my lake as short as possible. So, I am going to pick it up Wednesday night at 6PM, barring any complications in their continued shakedown of the boat today and tomorrow. They said the only thing they had found was some in-transit dings in the gelcoat. They had already fixed them by the time I got there and you wouldn't even know it if you couldn't see a tiny bit of dust along the line where the tape was before removal.

As promised, I'll take as many pics as I can Wednesday and over Memorial Day Weekend. Looks like things are going to work out just in time for the holiday. :D

I am glad to hear your boat has arrived, I think all of us have been through a similar situation. I just took delivery of my new 260 so I will be anxious to compare notes as our boats go through the first 20 hours.

Enjoy!

Mark, that 260 looks SWEET. I looked at the 260 at the very first show and fell in love with it. I just didn't need that much boat (read: not in the budget :D ) so I had to move down a few sizes. That on-board head would be a nice feature.

Let me know how yours turns out.

BTW, I just thought of something else for you new buyers to be aware of. The first time out with our boat, the power steering pump started whining. Those of you with knowledge of GM PS pumps know that means it's low on fluid. Sure enough, after 15 minutes of cruising the level was down practically off the dipstick. It seems they fill the pumps at the factory, but don't exercise the steering enough to completely fill & purge the air out of the lines - so when YOU do it at the lake, you end up low. I've heard the same story from several FW/Volvo buyers. When you take delivery, I recommend you get a bottle of fluid to keep in the boat at least for the first couple of trips. You can run the GM pump low for a little while, but running it low for too long will damage it.

Sounds like one I need to check, and probably wouldn't have, thanks. BTW - Volvo recommends using Volvo Penta Power Trim/Tilt and Steering Fluid.

OK boys and girls. The boat is sleeping safely in the indoor storage facility at the lake and I'm a VERY happy camper. Everything was perfect, except for a stain on one of the cushions-which the dealer is ordering a replacement for today. No problems at all and I'm ready to get out and tear up some water this weekend!

I posted the pics in my album, for some reason my username for the photos is pt575-haven't figured out how I screwed that one up. Pics were taken just before sunset, and some have our sales guy and the service guy in them. I'll get some better ones in the sunlight, on the water, with me and the family, etc. this weekend and get them posted.

Thanks again to all for the advice and the ears. I hope that others learn from my experience with the delays and do their best to remain patient with the process.

OK, apparently the upload didn't go so well.

I opened a photobucket page instead:

Outstanding, Paul! That's a great looking combination of color with the new style arch. I take it the pics weren't taken at Pomme, though :).

No, we didn't make to Pomme until about 10:30PM. I got home about 1AM Thursday morning. Tough day at work yesterday after that.

Even tougher to sleep last night knowing that it is sitting down there, whimpering for me and wondering where I am. There, there, sweetheart....daddy will be along in less than 8 hours to take care of you...

Where are you storing it there? I only ask because we haven't ruled out making Pomme a more regular destination. Also, do you have any idea what kind of crowds to expect there this weekend? We haven't decided what we're doing yet - which is pretty sad, considering the weekend is HERE.
