nice pics, glad to see some folks got off the dock. This weekend was a bust here. Small craft adivisories out for most of the weekend, sure was windy. Still is for that matter.

Same for us Michael. Stayed in port and enjoyed a local festival. I did have a friend that bought
a 1996 Sea Ray 330DA in Milwaukee. Him and his wife brought it across Lake Michigan on
Saturday afternoon. It took them 3-1/2 hours. Luckily it was a following sea in that direction, but
still not something I would do with only one boat, and being brand new to the boat too.

The weekend was a write off on Lake Ontario also. The winds kept us in our sheltered creek slip from Thursday on. We spent time on the "new" boat just examining all the nooks and crannies while provisioning her, fixing some minor items and let the kids swim.

Seems like fall came a week too early for most of us.

We spent time on the water at my in-laws for the weekend. Saturday was too breezy to do anything other than launch and tie up to the dock, but we did watersports on Sunday for likely the last time. The 62 degree surface temp was pretty chilly. Standing in the water watching my son wakeboard for the first time was worth it though...I'd do it all over again.

Wow. Sorry to hear about all of the bad weather. The Annapolis area was beautiful this past weekend. It was windy on Saturday but Sunday and Monday were perfect boating days. Hopefully you all will get a few more nice weekends in before the winterization process starts. Last year we managed to stay on the water until mid-November. We'll see what this year brings.

The Marriott family has a house on that lake...wonder if that's theirs.

My weekend hasn't ended. I'm posting this while on the hook in Fairlee creek. I think those winds have caught up to us! Some big chop out on the bay today, luckily I towed over the new ski. The weekend here was nice, I showed up sunday and rafted up. Yesterday was quite as people rolled out early. Saw a 348 or an 07 338 leaving yesterday marked 'knot flyin' HdG MD.. wonder if he lurks here? Today, I am the only boat in the basin. Gotta love back to school :)

Drove down to Lake Cumberland on Friday after work to stay the weekend at Jamestown Marina. We were going to meet our friends at the condo rental that night, then put the boat in the water and into a slip so that we could avoid the big line at the launch ramp on Saturday. Beautiful weather all weekend - just idyllic - had a marvelous time. The only negative was the crazy hectic drive down on a fast moving very crowded I-65, capped off with my first trailer tire blowout. I was going 65 and cars are whizzing past me and I felt a rumble/vibration, looked in my right side mirror and saw white smoke at the tire area (tandem). Quickly went into the emergency lane and viewed the carnage - the front tire was shreaded. Since the guard rail only allowed about 3-4 inches of clearance I couldn't change it there, and limped to the next off ramp in the emergency lane at 5 mph. Fortunately it was only about a third of a mile. Amazingly the rim seemed ok. I used my Durango jack and found that it nowhere near lifted high enough, and had to scramble to find some scraps of wood and a piece of cinderblock to add height (and danger and fear). Well it worked fine, and didn't collapse, but I made several other stupid rookie mistakes - didn't loosen the lug nuts before lifting (so had to lower, loosen, and rejack up), then, for some reason didn't loosen the key/locking lug nut (had to lower, etc.), didn't concern myself with the sharp steel wires gnarled all around the shreaded tire (and now have a few band-aids on my fingers). Well, after much cursing and sweating, I got it done, and nervously went the 80 miles left to Cumberland. We got there fine after that, and at about 11 pm, after prepping the boat, etc. we began to back the boat down the ramp, and were held up by an ambulance that we came to find out was there to pick up an injured person being brought over from the State Dock marina. Turns out she wasn't severely injured, and though it delayed an already late night for us, it made me count my blessings that no one was hurt in my blowout (except my fingers, of course). :)

Wow, tough trip. I found out this summer that you can plan all you want for a flat while towing, but the first time it actually happens, it's a stressful SOB and prone to all kinds of lapses in thought.

Well, I had just last week been reading a thread on here in which you posted an aluminum jack and mentioned the importance of having some 4x4's or something for extra lift. I just hadn't done that yet. Too bad I had to learn the hard way.

Don't feel bad. I had to move my truck jack 3 times because of the height issue - all the while forgetting that I had 2x4's in the truck.
