Just got done winterizing the boat for the long cold winter again. How depressing! Now the long seven months of waiting begins. Good thing deer hunting just opened or I am not sure what I would do with myself.

I hear ya...I winterized my camper today. Pulled out 1 friend's dock last weekend...going to pull another friend's dock tomorrow. After that, cleaning out the boat and getting it ready to be winterized at the marina. My first mate was kind enough to show me that she cleaned up my ski waxing area. It's about time to get the skis out and get them stone ground, tuned up for the winter. The summer never seems quite long enough up north.

Ouch....we still have a good 6 weeks at least if not longer. Last year we pulled the boat mid-November and were back in the first weekend of April.

I'm hoping to get one more run up the river, if not two, to look at the fall colors. Then it is time to winterize. The camp grounds close the weekend of Oct 24 so we will be going untill then. I actually have reservations for that weekend already. After that it is time to winterize that as well.

BTW...anyone know where I can get specific instruction to winterize my 5.0 OMC Cobra. Previous owner gave me a manual that looks like it was dragged behind the boat, and the pages are all stuck together in that section. I have tried the FW web site but had no luck. :(

Wow it way 92 today and 96 tomorrow, we still have about another month or so of good boating weather, it's just not too hot as it usually is in Texas.

WE probaably still have some nice days left, but I am sure they will come during the work week and the water is already to cold to do any swimming and did I mention Sundays are now busy with the football season underway so I called her quits for the year.

Not winterized yet, but don't expect to be able to get out again either.

Too early to winterize. Fall boating is great in Michigan and Wisconsin. At least a month left for us.

Another weekend near the boat; 25+ mph wind, torrential rain and 58 deg. F ( just like August really!). 3 days ago the forecast was light winds, sun, no rain albeit 62 deg. F. As per usual, today's Sunday forecast for the next weekend indicates light winds, sun , no rain; no doubt the forecast will change on Thursday (again!). Following weekend the boat is out of the water; only 6 trips/ about 15 hours this year so far; just like the last 4 seasons , I'm beginning to think ( and my wife for sure thinks) the money spent on boating would be better spent on a BMW M5 !

We took a run out (about 8 mile) to what all the local folk call the "sandbar" to give our boat sides and bottom its last scrub before our lift out and winterize after the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend.

The water temperature was 18 celsius. My wife and I were working in waist deep water for about 30 minutes. It was a bit chilly. My 8 year old son was swimming around, showing us how long he could swim under water. He lasted almost 1/2 hour.

Our Sunday was real nice out on the water.........

Mike.
