Hi Great looking boat I used 303 on vinyl and for the hull I used the magic eraure sponge with a spray from the dollar store forget what its called but it removes lime rust and everything else ya can think of just got a crawler board to get underneath to keep myself dry sprayed quite a big area rubbed it with the magic sponge all the coffee looking stains came off then rinsed it with a hose as I went. I did post a bit in cleaning a while ago. and check out how clean my FW H22 looks in my other post I used four seasons wax on mine after washing... Good Luck Ray

Jim, we love our 210SS. It is a great boat for our lake and I can still trailer to some other good lakes around Atlanta. I love the style and it is plenty fast for me. It is a head turner, even on Oconee that is heavy on Cobalts, Nautiques, Mastercrafts and Malibus.
I have left it stock, but if I had to upgrade, I would replace the stock Sony 6.5's, the gauges and fake burlwood with yours and add some stronger gas springs on the sunpad. I may be the only guy that hates the snap-in carpet, but there weren't too many alternatives anymore. I just don't get the need for removing it, our carpet stays clean. Any girls hot enough (including my wife) that I would allow to eat Cheetos on my boat, don't eat Cheetos.

Hi Heminole0,

Awesome to hear you like the boat. Im really looking forward to next spring, our boat is still at the dealer until then (they offered free storage) so we have not used it yet. I was wondering if you were saying that "I" should replace my speakers and gauges, and fake wood-or were you saying you would replace yours with what's on our boat? I noticed one thing they changed on the 2011 interior was they didn't use that fake wood stuff, which I really never found to be all that attractive. How do you like the speakers? I wonder if we have the same speakers and stereo that you do? Our stereo came with a nifty remote for it. What problems are you having with the gas springs? Im excited to hear the boat run, and to tinker with it.

I was LMAO about your cheetos comment!! No one is eating in my boat, especially our four rug rats. Any chance you have more pics of the boat in the water, or better yet, any video's.

Jim

Sorry for the confusion. I would like to update my gauges and the fake wood switch panel to what you have. Yours look great. The stock Sony speakers I have are ok when we're on the hook, but get lost at cruising speed. If I turn them up to overcome the wind noise, the music gets distorted. I did like that it was Sirius ready. I just added the boat radio to my account and really enjoy that on the water. I'll dig up some more pictures later or just take a photo tour this Sunday when we get out.

Hello Jim and Welcome Aboard!

I too am a new 2011 H210SS owner with only 10 hours on the boat so far. I had a bad motorcycle accident back in March 2009. I always took my older kids up to Ute Lake on Jet Ski's, but since my accident the jolting when riding them hurt my hip and leg too much. I decided to move up to a boat for comfort and was looking at the Yamaha Jet Boats and noticed the Four Winn's on the dealers floor. I really wanted to trade off my 3 Jet Ski's and fell in love with the Four Winn's. I don't think there is a better boat out there for the price with the style & features you get. I even shopped a Chaparral Extreme but kept coming back to the Horizon SS210. I was hooked, but here is a couple of things I noticed and am still finishing upgrading or replacing on my boat:

1. Researching my motor and outdrive produced some interesting results. My dealer listed my engine as a 377 MAG MPI, I called Mercruiser to order a Service Manual and asked for production dates. My engine turns out to be an MPIC (Catalytic Converter) engine built on 04/16/10, but my Bravo 1 Outdrive was dated 04/15/08 and has a 1.65:1 gear ratio. My WOT RPM'S were only hitting 4300, yet we are at 4,000 ft. elevation. I ended up calling PowerTech! Propellers and they recommended a 4 blade SS model # OFS4 prop with a 16 pitch instead of the Mirage Plus 19 pitch prop that came on my boat. Now the WOT is at 5050 and ran great last time out but top speed is still showing 43-44 mph on my Garmin gps - 50 on the boats speedometer. I will keep the Mirage Plus for when I take the boat on vacations to lower sea level lakes.

2. I had to change my Sony stereo as it was a 2007 year model to this years CDX-H910UI model so I could add a rear stereo pod at the back swim area of the boat because the Sony RM-X60M did not work with the model stereo that came installed from Four Winn's. My guess is they buy in pallet loads and keep installing until their gone. Another frustration is my sales girl told me that I would get 6 months of free Sirius Satellite music - NOT! Four Winn's does not offer that any longer so I had to buy a Kit to get it in the boat. Not all that expensive and worth every penny. The extra benefit of replacing the Sony Unit is the new model comes with a USB style connector to hook up an Ipod to play music thru your system.

3. The Sony speakers pretty much suck! Replaced all four with some Rockford Fosgate M262 6 1/2" speakers and since I have the Tower Speaker and Upgraded Stereo Amplifier kit, I replaced the 10" SubWoofer with a Rockford Fosgate M210S4 Speaker as well. I am happy with the sound package now but know alot of people on this site lean towards the Polk db651's because of the great pricing specials that come up every so often on Amazon.com. I got the M262 for $139 pair and the Sub Woofer for $220.

4. Read about the Bimini Top and Trailer cover posts on this site. That is where I learned how to attach the Bow & Cockpit cover and use the poles that were in the ski locker with no instructions from Four Winn's or the dealer. Also order the Heim Bolts from McMaster-Carr for the Bimini Knobs and get a machine shop to install them. This is worth your time & effort to keep your screws threads from getting ruined the first time out!

5. Because our roads are some of the worst in the U.S., I upgraded my trailer tires from Greenball Bias Ply to Maxxis M8008 Radials, installed a new Fulton winch to match the F2 Jack and am having my surge brakes removed and replaced with electric brakes so I don't have to constantly move the coupler pin to keep them from engaging just about every time I back up. When I replaced the tires, I did not realize that the aluminum rims have a spacer between the wheel and Hub. I am going to see about trying to take them out because it makes the tires stick out about 3/4" past the fender wells. I had to have some of the metal contour trimmed at my auto body shop for fear that if I hit a bad pot hole or bump, the edge of the fender would slice right into the tire and ruin them.

I have done LED light upgrades and alot of other extra's that I won't bother you with, but listed the biggest 5 fixes I worked on. Have FUN with your new boat too!

Awesome email and thank you for the insight. I most likely will upgrade the speakers in the future. Looking at all of our manuals, I see that we have the latest and greatest sony that you have. Im curious, you said you did led lights? What all did you do with LED's? Was it difficult to do?

 DITTO, As Always You Can Count On Cap'n Morgan For Leading Us To The Right Info! I changed my bow navigation to an Attwood LED light and am putting an LED Anchor light fixed on a pole to attach on my tower arch. I also changed out my dock lights from 50 watt halogen to LED's that I ordered from ITS because I also replaced my Dock Light Lens Covers. I could not get the scratches out of the lens even after polishing them. Changed out the instrument panel lights to the red WPLED bulbs. I have the blue courtesy light (1) and swim platform (5) that came installed from the factory that turn on with the courtesy light switch. As soon as I get all my projects done I will post a thread with pics!
