and it hasn't been this warm in Chicago, this late in October, since 1975. Fantastic weekend!

I remember it well, 84 degrees that day in 1975. I was at the Museum of Science and Industry downtown on a senior trip.
Navy Pier was a heap of trash then, and gas was .57 cents per gallon for leaded, since unleaded was not available until 1976.
On October 12th 1975, I was out on a 1969 Owens cruiser on Lake Michigan fishing with friends on my birthday. Weather was
upper 70's and calm conditions. Marina gas that morning when we filled up was .63 cents per gallon. Those were the days.
Too bad Fire was not even born yet to actually experience it.

This past weekend was our last time on the boat this season as well. We spent the entire weekend on the boat, and went out both Saturday and
Sunday for boat rides and the final pump out. A couple of pictures I had, but most are on the wifes' camera.

Leaving the Marina Sunday morning.

Leaves are just turning here, was a perfect 70 degree no wind day today, calm enough where my wife would drive :)

I'll use it until mid-November unless the weather forcast gets below 32 dgrees at night for a couple days in a row, might even do a bilge heater and boat all winter but I'll go broke paying for fuel if i do that :D

This may have been the final day on the water aside from a quick trip out and back to pump out the holding tank. Absolutely beautiful out there today....I hate to start the layup process. I wonder if moving to FL is an option. Better, yet St. Martin.

Took the boat out today on Muskegon Lake. Most likely this will be my last trip for the year. The temp was only about 45 degrees and dropped well below that once the sun set.

I dropped anchor and caught a ton of perch. I couldn't keep my lines in the water and eventually ran out of minnows.

I was anchored just off of shore

Finally got too cold so I packed up and came in around 8:00

Supposed to get into the 20s next weekend so last Sunday was my last day out, spent today winterizing it (great 70 degree sunny day) instead of using it. I could squeeze another month out of it but its cooling off quick this year so why take a chance. Few pics from the last time out.

Great place to boat around here, I can take go all the way to the Gulf of Mexico on the Tennesse River and Ten-Tom, probably wouldnt do it with this boat but I'll try Chattanooga next season. Its a little different than what I'm used to on Lake Michigan since I havent found a spot where I dont see land and its fairly calm, but the never ending scenery and makes up for the 'big water' somewhat.

Well, I thought we were done once before but now we're really done. Not sure if running over to empty out the holding tank counts but I'll call it my last day on the water for 2010.
