Spent alot of time on the water this summer racking up just over 100 hours on the new Vista. Going to pull her out of the water early next week and put her away for the winter. The boat has been great and performed flawlessly.

Love the boat. Some of the high lights;
1. Dual prop, improved handling in tight spots & docking.
2. Trim tabs.
3. Fuel consumption not as bad as I was preparing for.
4. Having all the amenities; head, fridge, fresh water, ac/heat, windlass, and just being bigger.
5. Like the trailer; 4 wheel discs, LED lights, swing away tongue, 2 speed winch, lock out solenoid for backing, Fulton F2 jack, and the larger tires. Galvanized/gatorhyde trailer would have been better for the salt environment.

A generator would have been nice. Always thought I wanted one, but maybe it was a bit of a luxury and that I could get by without. If I had the choice, I would have one based on this past summer.

When I first looked at this boat, the dealership also had a new 288 with twin 5.0L and a genny I believe. Should have had a look strictly on gaining a beamier boat. If/when I upgrade, it will be for beam rather than length, although, there is nothing wrong with length!

But I did have a few issues, more disappointments with quality control and factory installations.

1. Where the side windows meet the arch, they used a black foam to seal the gap. When you rub the area while cleaning, the foam kind of flakes out.
2. The forward bilge was full of fibreglass dust to the point if the bilge pump had to come on, it would have plugged up and not worked at all. Spent a couple of hours flushing it out with a hose and water and sucking it out with shop vac.
3. GPS and VHF were not wired together therefore not communicating with each other for the purpose of the digital selective calling (fixed myself).
4. Had no water pressure when connected to city water. Discovered check valve was installed incorrectly at the factory. Also was not happy with the quality of the transom shower. Contacted customer service and they sent me a complete shower assembly under warranty. I fixed the check valve issue myself and installed the new transom shower unit.
5. Cockpit light not working. Again, customer service sent me the parts and I replaced myself.
6. While locating the fresh water pump for the up coming winter season, I found alot more pieces of fibreglass & dust under the v-berth stairs. Also found a hand full of screws and misc. parts, installation instructions, etc. Again, I spent some time cleaning it up.
7. On an overnighter, I noticed my anchor light was on, dimly lit, but on even though the switch was off. And the indicator light in the switch was on as well. Had it looked at and fixed under warranty. Apparently, there was a jumper wire on the back of the switch causing the problem. My marine mechanic and FW has no idea why the jumper wire was there.
8. Fresh water tank and batteries located on the port side. Waste water tank located on the starboard side. Boat lists alittle to the port until you deplete some fresh water and load up the waste tank.

FW customer service/warranty dept has been great to deal with and I have been impressed with their communication skills. I know I have only had minor issues, but they took care of them.

I don't think anyone has answered your holes in the arch question... they are drain holes in case water gets in the arch. It happens.
