Got this guy Oct. 29th with my bow (first year bow hunting). Have gun hunted for over 20 years and never got one this big. Beginners luck I guess. 191/2 inside spread 10-Point green scored roughly 132 (first time I ever scored a deer so may not be exact). Well just thought I would share my excitment. Gotta have a hobby when the weather turns cold.

Awesome. I have a 50+ year old cousin down near Wichita who has never bought meat in a grocery store, and has never hunted with anything but a bow. As they say, "fear the man who only has one weapon; he probably knows how to use it."

How was the Hunt this year? Up here in Ontario they are plentiful you don't even need to take a week off anymore for your hunt. A couple days usually does it!!!!

Deer are getting a little thin here in Wisconsin. Our wonderful DNR has managed to screw it up the last few years. And then they are the great idea of bringing wolves back into the state and considering the are under federal protection they are growing in mass numbers, killing deer like crazy and you can't shoot the damn things even though most people who care about there deer population wouldn't hesitate to shoot given the chance.

Sorry. Kinda figured it might offend some non-hunters, but wanted to share. I guess being from Wisconsin where deer hunting is a big tradition I forget that there are big city people out there that might not share in my taste for the outdoors and the great sport of hunting.

I understand different strokes for different folks and all and this is a boating forum. Maybe something to consider is to put on "Off Topic" section on the board for stuff like this.

I don't know about everyone else, I love coming here and looking at the boating post, and talking about boating, and going boating, but this time of year the traffic slows down allot, you can check a couple times a day and there are only a few posts.

An off topic section would give a place for this stuff and keep posts coming in and interest in logging on. Just a thought. Ive seen other boards do that.

By the way 07H200SS, nice deer!

I agree with you 100%. I love looking at pictures of boats and talking about boats as much as everyone here, but for about 90% of us the boating season is over for a few months so I find myself not on here as much as I am during the season. I thought at least a few board members might enjoy a little something like this as for most parts of the country it is deer season and if it were not for hunters everyones car insurance would triple not to mention the amount of car accidents and people hurt caused by these guys.

I'm not offended by a picture of a dead animal, I've seen the effect on humans of a moose running in front of a car in Sweden, but I could imagine some people would be, it's not just a "city" thing. Killing any animal in the UK using a bow or a crossbow is actually illegal here (and owning any sort of a gun is severely restricted except for drug dealing criminals it seems). Owning the hunting tips for the arrows is also illegal ( as are flick knives etc). I do have a compound bow, archery here is restricted to shooting at inanimate objects.

I live close to Amish country and those people make some of the finest summer sausage around. You can't get it everywhere around here if the butcher is federally inspected they can not process game meat!
