You gusy made some good points. There is nothing better than some qaulity made venison summer sausage. My brother-in-law actually smokes all his own meat and makes the best sausage I have ever had.

It's great how this went from being offensive to some...to sausages & jerky...to :shock:

Congrats on getting a deer. Venison cooked up with some fresh mushrooms, I get hungry thinking of it. Enjoy!

Me too....

7 of us shot 18 deer on opening weekend (last weekend). I dropped mine at the processor on Wednesday and they called yesterday saying its ready to be picked up....heading up there tomorrow (after my test run in the 298 Vista).

Actually what you describe is a Jackolope. I don't know what the female rack size is for one of those.
I used to hunt them in South Dakota when I was in my 20's but have now settled down to the Kansas
red fur type.
