You know it's going to 30 mph winds tomorrow and lows in the 20s. Pack warm. But I think I did the same thing when I bought mine one march.

Congrats!!! I remember how exciting it was for us going from our H190 to a 268. You'll have to let us know how that first nights sleep is on your boat. I hardly slept our first night on the boat because I would wake up with every little noise/movement of the boat, but it doesn't take long before you sleep great on the boat and have trouble sleeping at home without all those little noises/rocking motions :D

Good job! Your happy will have a very nice holiday season! Do you plan on staying on her at the marina more throughout the winter or just waiting to see how tonight goes?
How far away is she?

Marc - she is about 30 miles from our house right now. When we get her to our lake in the Spring....literally a couple miles to the marina. We are planning to spend several nights at the marina this winter. December...wont be much due to my work schedule, but still...we do plan to spend some time up there.

Tonight, we are going to move some of our stuff up there, do some cleaning, enjoy some cocktails and see what this cruiser life is all about.

From the pics it looks like a really nice boat. Congrats and enjoy. I also like the key floats
being red and green or left and right just like Nav lights. Cool idea!

Thanks - I cant take responsibility for the key coding though...previous owner did that (SoonerBoater)

Also, I do want to thank SoonerBoater for all of his question answering on this boat. I got very lucky to accidentally find the previous owner right here on this forum.

Have you taken the helm yet and tried docking? Tell us how it goes. I was used to a 24' single engine cruiser before moving up the 298 and was a little nervous at first around the docks....especially when I got to within a few feet of the docks. Luckily I was experienced enough to not panic or overcorrect but it was definitely different than docking with the smaller boat. Curious as to your first experience goes.

Not yet....but I will tomorrow. When we test drove her, I let the broker dock her. Tomorrow...we are heading to the gas dock, lol....wish me luck!

I remember my first time at the gas docks with the 298.....previous boat had a single 70 gallon tank. This boat has one 70 gallon tank per side. Good luck. :D

Congrats on the 298V. Our family loves ours and it has truly become our second home on the weekends during the boating season. Curious, why are you waiting until Spring to move her to your lake?
