Well, that kind of stinks? This may be a silly question but, where do you then take your boat for warrantee work or maintenance? I know in the past it was always nice to take something back to its respective dealer for service. Sorry to hear the bad news.

Since I am now in my extended warranty period, I can take at anywhere that is authorized. Extended warranty coverage is mainly for the engine and drive systems...I will still take mine to Phil Dill most likely.

I do my own maintenance and if I didn't there are shops around that would. I haven't had to have an warranty work and hopefully I never will.

It would be interesting to know what's really going on with the reduction of FW dealers. I'm in Orlando and there used to be 2 local dealers and a couple others within an hour or so drive. Now according to FW's website the nearest one is in Destin. 300 miles away!

Always remember something...

Supply vs. demand rules the market price of nearly everything. If there is a good product out there (Four Winns), but the supply is limited (perhaps by dealer reduction) the product (boat) is less likely to be price prostituted and therefore will demand a higher selling price (resulting in more profitable dealers) and higher resale/trade values (for people like us).

I dont know anything special....just instering my .02 with regard to things like this

Quoting Greg Gaudin, my service advisor:

"Unfortunately we are no longer the Four Winns Dealer. However, I can still service the motor and drive. At this point, we have been able to still get boat related parts. I know at some point that will stop. I do not know when however. As far as the reason for no longer carrying the line I do not know the reason. I am not sure if it was an economic decision or the fact that we became the Crownline Dealer again. Thanks Greg Gaudin"

Greg is a great guy and he's always taken very good care of me. I was also a bit shocked to see/hear they dropped the Four Winns line. Greg was my SA when I brought the boat in this fall/winter for winterization and he told me the same things Steve. The only thing I have to add is he said that with the pickup of Crownline as well as Regal and Yamaha, they just had too many boat lines that were running together and so they decided to drop Four Winns, if that's really adding anything, almost seems redundant. I'm sure there's more to it. Certianly the money aspect that Jole was saying. Still it sucks, I wish they wouldn't have dropped the line.

Well....we bought a cruiser, so our days of being a trailer boat customer with them are over anyway...
