Yea it seems pretty nice, just worried about the double slip thing. I think sea world marina is also all doubles. I think I am going to have to flip a coin to finally decide on this. Sounds like you know the area pretty well evilz, can you recommend any restaurants with slips in the San Diego bay, either downtown or on Coronado? Thanks for all the input everyone!

SD Bay:
Coronado has public slips by the ferry landing in front of Peohe's restaurant. There are a variety of eateries right there.
The Bali Hai has a dock as does Joe's Crab Shack.
Anthony's Seafood Grotto has kind of a rickety dock.
If you feel even more adventurous and want to see the entire SD Bay, the Chula Vista Marina off of J Street has a public slip and some restaurants like the South Bay Fish and Grill.

There may be a couple of others, but that should get you started.

Also, I think the Dana is a pretty well run marina and I think that you (and your wife) would be happy with their amenities.

See you on the water!

Erik

Most of the slips at the last marina I slipped at for a few years were doubles. We were semi-secluded, so no major winds got into the marina, but I don't think anyone had a problem with other boats damaging theirs. It also would depend on who was your neighbor I guess.

Thanks evilz. I think I might take the boat down to San Diego bay this week and I will try one of those out for lunch.

I decided on taking that slip. I'll keep everyone up to date with how the new move goes. Hopefully I won't have to post pics of a salvage operation. Thanks for everyone's input!

I'm hoping to be on the water tomorrow - we're contemplating dropping in at Oceanside and hauling down to Mission or SD Bay in my Funship or more likely my buddy's Horizon. With the rain, I'm not thinking that would be all that enjoyable, though....

Yea, I hear you. I have some family getting into town Thursday, and I was thinking of doing the downtown bay; but like you said with the weather like this it may be less than fun. Might have to break out the camper enclosure or rain slickers.

How long does the Oceanside to Mission Bay trip take you?

I haven't ever made the trek, from O'Side to Mission/SD, so was looking forward to tomorrow.

Perhaps next week...
