i'm looking for an old, even beat-up front cockpit cover for an F224 (Funship 214). I don't care about the condition of the main part of the cover. Ripped is fine. What I want is the outer edge, where it snaps onto the boat. My purpose is that I want to create a tent for the front of the boat to use for the occasional overnight camping. I'm planning to use the existing snap edge, and sew it onto an inexpensive nylon pop-up tent, and remove the floor from the tent. I think this way I can have a snap-on cover to keep the bugs out while providing an area to sleep.

You are better off to buy the tent first then have a canvas shop sew a doubled up piece of canvas along the edge. This way you can install the snaps exactly to match the existing ones. The snaps on a used cover probably won't match your spacing eventhough theory says they should...these things are made by hand and are never exactly the same.
