The attachment you're connecting to feeds water into the raw water pump inlet hose. The other end of the hose goes via an oil cooler, then onto the transom. There shoulldn't be any way the water can get into the input shaft bellows from that hose ! Are you sure it's coming from within the bellows ?; maybe there's a leak in the water hose (#16) which is allowing water to spray onto the bellows? Or possibly from the relief hole in the fitting (#9)

Thanks for the diagram, that helps a lot. At this point, i'm not sure of anything. Water appears to be coming from bellows #18. You could be right, and perhaps it's a small leak in the hose #16 or fitting #9 which is spraying up onto the bellows, and fooling me.

Either way, you've given me a few new thoughts, which is why I love this forum! So, maybe the problem is not what I thought. I guess I'll have to pull the drive to check it out.
