We bought the 230 from Boat House in Topeka, KS nearly 6 years ago. They were a great dealer. They made us an unbelievable deal on a boat we were ordering without any haggling, and they bent over backward on warranty and service work. A couple of years ago I had the boat there for service and I called them on a Wednesday afternoon to see when it would be done. To my shock I was told not only would the boat not be done, all boats had to be off the property by close of business Friday - they were closing the doors.

For lack of a better option, I started taking the boat to Lakeside Marine Service on the far west side of Topeka - much farther out of the way than Boat House already was. But, as happy as I'd been with Boat House, Lakeside's service has been even better. It's a family owned dealer, they do a great job on service, they have a full service 'glass shop run by one of the best 'glass guys in the business, and they're nice to do business with. The only thing is, they've had no relationship with FW.

Today a postcard came in the mail:

Awesome when things work out like that. I bet it will be nice to have a local dealer again--and the fact that it is someone you already trust is icing on the cake. Nice!

Good to hear, Mike. Nice to have an option other than LOTO if I ever need anything done.

I plan on being in Topeka for work next week. Probably stop by.

My advice is, lower your expectations. :) Really, the place looks like it was hit by a tornado and then rebuilt... sort of. The good stuff is from the people who do the work there. The showroom normally has 3 'toons, nothing else. But I'd order a boat from them, assuming the price was fair. (Boat House was no palace either; many years ago it was a furniture store.)

My dealer dropped Four Winns last year but I still get great service from them and they honor the 5 year warrenty on the Volvo power train, the only warranty I have left.

I wondered... I thought they had a nice, large show-room. Now I know. So maybe I won't swing by after all.
