Hello, I am purchasing a 328 Vista 2003. I would like to install a radar on the boat.
The problem is to determine the max dimensions possible for the display unit. The display shall be installed on the console on the left side of the dashboard.
Does anyone of you can measure the console (I have no access to the boat...) or tell me what display you have in?
The Dealer was suggesting a Raymarine C90W and I may have an excellent deal on a C120 classic unit but - again - I do not know if will fit.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Happy boating
GP

You can look up the product manuals on the Raymarine site. there you will find dimensions, mounting depth, etc for the two units you are considering.

I would gladly measure and provide dimensions on the helm dashboard panel that you are interested in, however, our boat will remain under shrink wrap for about another 8 weeks.

We must be getting closer to Spring right?

Mike.

Prob too late now - but heres 2 distant pics of C120 in a 328.

doesn't look like there alot more room there however newer models seem to have a bigger screen for the same cut out.

txvista would be a good person to check with. He updated his Nav system last year and had some of the same challenges.

Why not get a radar system that's integrated with a chartplotter? No need for a second display that way.

Where will you be boating with it?

I have a 2001, and if the helm is the same, I think you will have some problems. I just installed the E80, and it would not fit in the space left side of the helm. I measured several times, thinking it would fit, until we got the actual unit out there. The problem was that the space is not a square, more of a parallelogram. The bottom length is longer than the top. I could have made it work, but it would have looked like sh*t. And if the E80 would not fit, the c120 will not.

Here's a pic of the helm before the installation. I don't have a good pic after, but I installed it right behind the wheel where my paper map is. I was skeptical at first, but I do like that location now. If you look past the girls, you can see it installed.

Hello;
thanks for the replies - I was at the boat yesterday and got measurement. We decided to go with the dealer suggestion (c90W).
I will post later the measurement for future reference.
Thanks again
