Hi everyone.
I did look through the site and did a search but came up empty handed... unless I missed a post which is entirely possible :mrgreen: .

I will be changing the davit system on my 298 this spring. I currently have the 'Weaver' plates installed on the swim platform and of course the new system mounts don't even come close to the existing holes. I have a total of 8 - 1/4' diameter holes through the swim platform that need to be filled.

My questions are;

Has anyone done this?
Is it as simple as filling it short with West System followed by a topper of gel coat?
Can I use straight gel coat?

Any advise would be appreciated. :D

I think you're on the right track. Put some tape on the bottom of the holes and fill them up with epoxy... Not sure about the gelcoat but I know some gel is not compatible with certain epoxies. Do some research on compatibility and you'll be all set.
