Abbreviated version.
1.) Strip/sand/grind old paint and corrosion off drive.
2.) Wipe down entire drive with solvent.
3.) Apply Primer to drive , 2 to 3 coats. VP blue/gray if you like http://www.marinepartsexpress.com:8080/ ... Id=1141562
I did not use this primer. Just bought yellow zinc chromate primer.
3.) Once dry, 2 to 3 coats Volvo Outdrive Paint.

4.) Spray 2 coats of clear-cote http://www.marinepartsexpress.com:8080/ ... tId=827502

Damn Capt'n....looks good. I started my outdrive repaint today. Spent about 3 hours stripping, sanding and scraping. Have another 5-6 hours before it's ready for zinc chromate, paint and clear coat.

It isn't too bad where I am. The water moves constantly and she isn't a marina queen so the movement helps as well. My last marina was a bit brutal.

Looks like our weather and lake level is ready for us this weekend. I am debating on whether to take down the canvas but pollen season is about to start and the cockpit cover is such a bitch to clean when coated with that stuff.

I couldnt wait, it was 80* and sunny today so I plopped it in the water, fired it up the first time this yea and went on a three hour cruise :)

Lake/river is 3' down but I just stayed in the main channel ducking debris from recent hard rains. With some freshly redone props I finally was able to hit 43mph GPS (FW's estimated top speed is 42-45), old props had a couple small dings when i bought it and 39mph was about all it would do so i'm happy with that.

First pic of 2011:

I have the shrink wrap cut so I can start working. Going to leave it wrapped for a few more weeks. Oak seeds/pollen are a killer! Can work on major systems and wash/wax right before she's ready to get wet.

Heading down to today to hopefully finish up for the start of the season. Need to install the new shower sump pump, change out 16 spark plugs, replace two impellers, and put the batteries back in the boat. In a perfect world this work would take a few hours....in my world, more like a few weekends. Wish me luck.

We took the plunge back in February and bought our first Four Winns. It's a 238 Vista and it's currently up in Michigan, about 6 hours away. Meanwhile I'm prepping the Bayliner (2052 LS Capri) for sale. Weather in Ohio is still dicey but I'm hoping that by mid-April, we'll be able to go retrieve her and, worse case scenario, keep her in the driveway with heaters running. UPS has visited here on many occasions as well. GET ME IN THE WATER!!

I hope you have more luck than I did...impellers might be slightly easier since yours is out of the water. Check my post in the engine care forum about the oil filters....

Spark plugs are done. Shower sump can wait another week. And impellers...well, that's another story. One was easy off, easy on. The other one....not so much. I had one stuck screw on the housing that didn't want to let go. Finally got it off and good thing I did because the impeller was missing a vane. Pulled that one out, stuck the new impeller in, got the housing back on the pump....3 screws in, last screw (same spot it was stuck coming off) snapped off in the housing. Now I have half a screw stuck in there. Not good. Look for a post on how to remove a busted screw. That'll be me :(

Got the outdrive back on this week. Complete with new drive shaft and u-joints and a pressure test.

I've just about got the interior cleaned up a ready to go. I had a spare hour today, so I had my daughter climb in the storage wells (under cockpit seats and ski well). She did a good job getting those areas wiped down.

Still need to give the exterior a good wash and wax. I also need to touch up a few spots on the trailer.

Unfortunately, I've got a little time. Although it was 80 degress here today, the River is still >2' above flood stage. However, it appears to have crested for now. So if our friends to the north can keep the rain away with moderate termps to not melt the snowpack all at once, we might be able to get out around the 1st of May.

Just ordered an impeller kit for install. Better to do when dry than wet! Weather is finally decent so hopefully the repainting of the outdrive can be completed this week. Zinc Chromate is on and dry, just need to paint and clear coat.

This is my list of things to do.
1. Replace bilge Pump
2. Replace brake actuator and pads
3. Install new radio
4. Clean/wax inside and outside

So far I have ordered all the parts to fix my brakes and picked up the bilge pump. Brake parts should be about 7-9 days shipped. I'm hoping the bilge pump will be an easy install. The only problem I can think of is the location and access. I have to take part of the seat out to get to it. I haven't gotten then radio yet, I am still deciding on which one to buy. I'm hoping this weekend is nice so I can get the shrink wrap off, replace the bilge pump, and get it all cleaned up. It will be worth every second/penny when I get her back out on the water!

Wash, wax and bottom paint are the last items on the list.
