Interesting...I would not have it any other way. Our first year of "boating", we started with a jet ski. Then we moved to a 23' Rinker. We did the whole lift and cart thing. Never again by the way..although it was nice to be able to wipe down the boat. We have been in a slip since 2003, and I could not imagine anything else. IMO...it is not worthe the headaches of trailering, or hauling the boat out. If we had a small boat, I would consider a dry stack, but there are many weekends...or weekdays, we just hang out on the boat. So nice just to get there and load your stuff on! As far as bottom paint, it never bothered us. It was protection for the boat. When we sold our last boat, it was a selling point for the new buyer.

Amen!

OK we put our boat in a slip Saturday, for the first time. It was a little windy but still a beautiful warm day. everything went great!! :D Hooked up the water, electric, stored stuff in our new dockbox, who could be happier!! The next morning we got up and made coffee then walked out to the patio we have on the slip. As I steped on the swim platform I noticed it was a little wet, but did not think anything of it. As I was sitting at the table on the patio I looked at the swim platform and noticed a little trickle of water   .So I turned the water off, raised the engine hatch, and found the sound proofing insulation to be soaked  . After I removed the pressure regulator where the hose is attached I found that the fitting on the back was only threaded on by 2 threads, another thing that was never tested @ the factory!! (among many others ) I tightened the fitting and all is now working correctly. I would suggest that everyone that has one remove the four screws and check the fittings for tightness. It was still great to be on the water again. :D Happy boating everyone :P

One of TSR's neighbours from Bayfield here... who had the unfortunate experience of slipping a boat without bottom paint. What a PITA both throughout and at the end of the summer. We tried to clean it with cloths, brushes, magic erasers, nylon scrub pads, finger nails..etc, often when we were out on anchor, but the green stuff is relentless!!

Just parked the boat in the driveway this evening, and needless to say - will be bottom painting it over the next few days. It simply CAN'T NOT be worth it.

As for A/C.... often wish we had it. :-((

Enjoy!
