Somehow over the winter what looks like gas leaked from near my genset fuel filter. The filter and hoses are all dry. Not sure what would have made it leak out unless there was some water in there. Filter is fine and no leaks at all when it is ran. I am left with a 2" x 4" about size of yellowish gas stain next to my genset in the bilge. Any idea how to remove it?

I am sure C L R will remove it Calcium Lime Rust cleaner I use it on the bottom to clean the so called coffee stain from sitting in the dock and it works a treat. I just do a 4 foot square at a time them rinse as I go. Good Luck .. Ray

In my last boat, the auto fire extinguisher was mounted with a STEEL bracket. Why steel in a boat?? Needless to say it rusted and yes, it stained the engine compartment floor. I tired to remove it, the stain would not come out. I made up my own bracket, so it would not happen again. I used 3m 5200 & squeegeed over the stain. It looked better than the rest of the floor and it took out all the small hair line cracks. But I must say, my stain was about 1x2', much bigger.

I will give the CLR a shot. Its not horrible but it looks bad, and makes it look like theirs a puddle of gas there! Not what you want to see in a bilge.
