NEWINGTON, Conn. — Boating information site FirstBoat.com has released a list of the most popular boat names of 2011.

Not sure how they can say these are the most popular for 2011, when we are only 4-1/2 months in.... Nothing really stands out to me, kinda standard run of the mill names with not much thought put into them.

1. Serenity (In addition to “Serenity” they saw variations such as “Serenity Now!” of Seinfeld fame, as well as clever misspellings including “Sea-Renity”)

2. Happy Ours (Variations on this boat name included “Happy Hours” and “Happy Hour”)

3. Feelin' Nauti (According to editors, they were surprised to see this in the Top 10, as there are so many other popular boat names that include “Nauti” in the name)

4. Family Time (Many other boat names that referenced Time came close to the top ten, editors said.)

5. Liberty (Variations included Miss Liberty, Lady Liberty, and Liberty Belle)

6. Black Pearl (“Pearl” was popular as well but didn’t crack the Top 10)

7. Andiamo

8. Knot On Call (Several boat names used the word “Knot” cleverly, editors said, but only this one made the top ten)

9. High Maintenance

10. Just Chillin

Touch of Glass...... with graphics of two sets of wine glasses clinking. It's a play on the fiberglass and the fact we make (and drink) our own wine. There's always a bottle or two on board!

Thinking of naming my boat Therapy. It does have a meaning to me, as I was seriously injured in a car vs bicycle accident last year and actually used some of the funds from the settlement to purchase the boat. I seem to forget about the problems and the pain when I am on the boat.

Yea, time to come up with a different name. Serenity anything is way to common and not very original.

Our boats name Seapickle II is a carry over name from our other boat.. a 1973 starcraft 18ft SS that left us stranded a couple of times therefore earning it's given name. It was such a fun name we kept it for our 268 and added the II. I'm often asked what a seapickle is and if a kid is asking the simple answer is it's a sea cucumbers cousin. If an adult is asking see below...
