Just bought a 2005 H280 Horizon with a 8.1 Merc DP with only 150 hours. Had it completely checked out by dealer mechanic before purchase and everything turned out great. I will be keeping it on a lift at Lake of the Ozarks so trailering will not be an issue. So any additional info you can give me on her would be appreciated. First Four Winns I have owned after previously owning Sea Rays, but so far I love it.

Congrats, that's a great looking boat. There are a few of us here in the same region (out of KC mostly).

That is a great looking boat. I've always liked the 310, but looking at your 280, there are some things I REALLY like! Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the FW family.

Thanks for the compliments. I was a little worried at first about a a single engine in a bowrider this size, but after taking her out this past weekend the 8.1 DP seems to have plenty of power. I was amazed that it will stay on plane at 3500 rpm. The real test will be the rough waters of Lake of the Ozarks this summer.

Welcome & Congratulations! That's a good looking boat. I'm an Iowan but make a few trips to LOTO each year. My parents also still take my boat down there at least twice a year. In fact, they took my signature pic out front of Plain Jane's Restaurant on 51MM.

My guess is that H280 will handle LOTO water without any issues since my H260 does just fine. On the weekends you just take a little longer to get where you're going. But that's true down there with about any boat except for the offshore powerboat guys.

I'll give you a wave if I see you down there. You'll be hard to miss in that big yellow FW.

Nice looking. As mentioned, you'll be fine on the bigger parts of LOTO as long as you're not trying to outrun the feds or anything. Don't know if you've dealt with them at all, but Village Marina is the FW dealer down there. It is who I went through to get mine and they have been OK to deal with since. Not stellar, but not bad either. Just OK.

Lakeoz--have no worries. I have the 2001 model of the same boat and use her on Lake Michigan with no problems. I have a Volvo 385 DP in mine with no power issues so you should be fine with that merc. Even after 500 hours, mine will still do 48mph in the right conditions. I absolutely love this boat. Very versitile even in moderate water. I tube, ski, fish, entertain with mine. Enjoy--I am sure you will!
