Finally got the 190 out on the water today. Purchase-price $2300.00  I love buying stuff from the mechically-challenged. PO said it had a water-leak and was afraid to take his family out on it anymore...............It needed a drive-bellows..........A marina told him it was going to cost 2500.00 to fix his rotten transom......There is no rot that I can find after some explorotory-drilling.
After all spent, I've got $2989.71 in her......I'm happy.

Wow! Great looking boat. It is like the Porsche 911 Pre 89, hard to tell the years apart unless you know the car. Your 93 looks very similiar to my 03 Freedom.

Was the trailer part of the deal? Looks like the Four Winns painted trailers.

What is the round stainless circle by the bow hook? Looks like a drain for a bilge but seems like an odd location.

That actually looks like the overboard drian for the anchor locker.....my 08 is near the same location.....actually i like that feature instead of allowing water to drain all the way to the rear to sit in the bilge.

Nice looking boat for sure!

PDA the stainless thing is a clamshell drain for the anchor-locker. And it is a F/W trailer that came with the deal.
I'm almost sure the surge-brakes are not working tho, I can feel the coupler moving when comming to a stop, but feel no drag at all. Jacking it up an pulling the drums is on the agenda next.

I think my ski lockers drain to the center locker and then out the bilge. I need to look. Mine came with a galvanized FW trailer. I am glad as I use it mostly in salt water.

I just was talking to my wife about yanking all my brakes and hubs and stuff off and redoing it as we have a trip this summer. You do not want to see mine!!!

We've got a trip to Fl. in June. The boats never seen salt. I almost hate to dunk it in it, but it will be only day-trips and not sitting in it overnight. I'll wash it down daily......I'm gonna pull mine down tomorrow and see what's-up. If I was a salty-dog I'd have to convert to discs.

Dunk it. We do it all the time. Hose it off good and bring your brush on a long handle as you will have salt overspray all over the boat. Make sure to flush the engine water good and make sure you trim the stern drive way down. Lots of water is in there.

The salt does get everywhere and causes corrosion in subtle ways, but not for the kind of use you are talking about. I have to replace the points n condenser, cap n rotor because of salt corrosion (boat sits on a salt water mooring 6 months of the year). On the other hand, salt water does not rot wood like freshwater does, the fungus that rots wood in freshwater does not live in salt.
I got finished scraping the last of last years barnacles off my drive and transom mount, man what a horror show. The one thing that will keep me from buying another I/O.

I have pretty much the same boat - but a 1994 - in teal, same engine, too. I paid $5k for it last Sept, and it, too had a need for a bellows job. Did it this March - cost $550 not bad.

One question - did the boat come that shiny and the blue that bright or did you apply something to it? Maybe its the sad New England winters that I have to deal with, but the teal on mine is not nearly that nice looking. I've used Star Brite...helped. But yours looks real nice.

Took mine out today, first time this spring. Water was COLD!!!!. My feet just thawed. Why didn't they install heaters in these boats? I was looking for the feet-heat setting....

Me,
The boat was pretty shiney except in the back at the transom. I used a high-speed buffer with a wool-pad and some compound to bring it back. Then waxed the whole thing with Zymol, my fav wax. Easy on-Easy off!!! If it's chalked up too bad you can hand-rub for weeks and just won't get the results as with a buffer.
Or there's instant-gratifacation- Mop-And-Glo, I kid you not......
