I priced it out as well. Prices starting at $15 per foot to compound and wax from the rub rail to the waterline.

On the trailer was 12.00 a foot to do everything they can reach, including the foredeck and swim platform non-skid. Plus they also did the 303 on all the outside vinyl and sprayed some kind of 3M waterproofing on the bimini. I was pretty happy with that, he wouldnt let me take the boat until I looked over everything and I was 100% happy.

There was a couple guys doing a 34' sea ray across from my slip today and those guys were working for their money, one was defying gravity hanging off the edge of the dock with a buffer at the waterline lol. I can see why the trailer is cheaper per foot.

Made some progress today. One side of the boat is about 90% done. Wonder when I'll get to the other side....

But hey, it looks pretty good. Check out the reflection in the picture.

Looking good. I can only hope my 2000 298V buffs out so nicely. You stated that you borrowed someone's 10" buffer. What is the make/model of it?

It's a Ryobi. Only problem is the bonnet I was using kept coming off so I ended up doing most of it by hand.

I got some waxing done above the rubrail on my H260 this weekend. Previously seeing your reflection pics, I thought this was a good view while working on my boat. You can see the reflection of my friend's H260 that he parks in my garage. The pictures aren't very good as I took them with my camera phone.

I tried to stand back a little to get both boat's Four Winns logos in the shot:

This is a direct shot of my blue band. You can see the waterline stains on my friend's boat. He's got some work to do.

I still have to tackle the tough part of everything below the rub rail. However, everything above the rub rail (including interior, compartments, bilge, carpet, etc) are ready to go. River is supposed to crest this week where I'm at, but it will still be a few weeks before it will be low enough to access. I'm getting more of an itch every day. Happy 2011 boating to all!

They're all looking good. Compounded the starboard side and bow (deck) before serious clouds rolled in. I am keeping a tarp over it so the oak seeds don't stain it. Hoping to have get the remainder of the boat compounded today and then start applying the wax. Junior will be shining all of the stainless steel....18 y/o's are pretty good at shining polls......LOL :o

Finally found time yesterday to wax the port side below the rub rail. All that's left now is port side from rub rail up and the arch....but that's something I can do while on the hook one of these days.

Update to this post...West Marine (of all places) has a great little buffer pad set for $12. It has 4 applicator pads, two removal pads, a buffing pad, and a "fine buffing pad". Compare that to $8 per pad at Sears or Home Depot. Plus the West Marine pads actually stay on the buffer whereas the ones from Home Depot would keeping falling off the buffer.
