Hi! I am also a new Vista 248 owner this year. For those of you who sleep on the 268 or 248s, do you find that you sleep in the forward birth more often than the underberth?

Absolutely. The mid cabin is too tight on a 248. I stuff the kids back there. They like it because with the curtain closed, it's like a little hide-away spot for them.

If you don't have kids, it's a good place to store extra pillows, life vests, clothes, etc.

On our 268 we love sleeping in the midcabin. We added a 2in memory foam topper, so that combined with the complete darkness with the curtain pulled and the a/c blowing on us it is honestly the best nights sleep I've ever had!

Our friends sleep in the Vberth when they stay with us and they seem to really like it. Of course it's easy to sleep good anywhere when you've been drinking in the sun all day :D

Thanks all for your comments. My initial thoughts are to sleep in the forward birth and turn the other birth into a closet/storage area. I am thinking of building some removable shelves to modify the space (i.e. Turn it into a pantry/linen closet/bedding storage area.) has anyone made any similar mods?

Its just me, the wife and a cocker spaniel, so we have no need to stow kids away! :)

Also, has anyone slept topside?
